since when is it okay to have a ret paladin chase you around the arena for a consistent 2-3mins as a SHADOW priest which are one of the strongest casters due to there strong DR’s and then you get hit by 3-5 hammers and a 15-20k templar verdict? what is it going to take for them to get the nerf.

Only class paladin CAN chase are the other immobile ones. If you somehow got tailed for multiple minutes without being able to create any distance with CCs, then I really don’t know what to tell you.
I wouldn’t have an issue with ret if they didn’t also have insane healing on top of the damage.
Before anyone says “but they can’t dps if they’re healing”, ret regenerates so much holy power that they literally can’t spend it fast enough.
You forgot to mention the Pally going from 10% to 80% in 1 instant cast heal. It’s clear the spec needs a nerf both in healing and dmg. We shall see what Blizz does.
I disagree with that. Hinder is REALLY strong, you have the horse, freedom, tons of ways to remove cc, a bunch of your attacks are ranged – including your stun. They aren’t like some completely wheelchair bound class. Yeah maybe in a dungeon they might be a little slow… but in PvP they can stick to you like glue for a pretty long time.
Get dispelled half the time, since it has 30sec cd.
You have to use them together because divine steed is an abomination of a spell. The only sprint in the game that doesnt remove roots and snares.

Unbound Freedom is the only great tool for mobility but its a pvp talent that’s being cluttered since ret has good pvp talents and 2 that’s locked you can’t play it all the time unless it’s vs mage then it becomes mandatory.

Really not just them though, nearly every dps spec can pump heals right now. Especially when it’s coupled with kyrian flask, classes like rogue and hunter can disengage from fights and completely reset.

It’s okay to have downsides about your abilities… like you can’t expect to run everyone down all the time. Ret Paladins should be easy to kite, because when they get to you with your pants down you die… and I definitely wouldn’t say they’re easy to kite right now with multiple short cds to rotate to stay on a target.
I dunno, like you just can’t expect to be amazing in every category… you know?
The problem here is that Ret Paladin needs a complete redesign of the class.
Currently it is a low mobility melee class which means that it has pretty low uptime on targets so that means it needs incredible burst to be threatening when they can actually connect with their enemies. This is problematic because it creates a class where you either can almost one shot enemies which isn’t fun for them(Current Ret Paladin) or you will struggle to kill anyone which isn’t fun for the Paladin(Ret Paladin in some previous expansions).
Low mobility also means it has problems disengaging from fights(outside of a long cooldown Divine Shield) so it needs strong instant cast heals to even have a chance of surviving. This design is also problematic because if the heals are strong, it seems that they are unkillable which can seem not fun to fight against or if the heals are mediocre then they will just die because they can’t disengage from fights. I’m pretty sure this is impossible to balance because even in arenas currently we just train Ret Paladins into the ground because of their low mobility and long cooldown defensives. Their heals, while strong can be overcome but a lot of players won’t be able to see that because they don’t know how to counter them(after all these are the same players that fight a Ret Paladin head on when he uses avenging wrath instead of CCing the Ret Paladin and disengaging from the fight until wings go down).
Blizzard just needs to completely redesign Ret so that it can actually be balanced because being only overpowered or underpowered isn’t good design. They need better mobility with more damage potential outside of wings and their 1 shot potential should be nerfed but their burst should still be strong. I actually think their WOG heal right now is perfect for the current meta because even though they can go from 1% to 80% in one heal its also easy to bring them from 80% to 0 in one burst.
I’m all for ret nerfs, but why are raid tanks, I mean shadow priests, allowed in PVP right now?

This is pretty comprehensive of where ret pals are at atm. There are very clearly defined weaknesses with the spec.
HOW DARE a ret be able to have a fighting chance and last 2-3 minutes against a ranged caster as theyre being kited. They need to be nerfed to the ground so they flop in just a few seconds and are no threat to the “strongest” ranged casters whatsover.
