Honestly I’m not really sure why they reworked the previous mini wings talent. The building stacks for an “on-use with a cooldown” was much better then the “passive auto proc wings + big melee damage hit”. Reworking that talent to it’s current form was a huge mistake and will become more and more of a problem as people naturally get more crit at higher ilvls in S2-S4
I’m pretty sure no one “knows” why Blizzard did what they did. Their class design devs seem to be a pile of baked potatoes.
That’s a shame… if they were baked potatoes covered in sour cream, cheese and bacon then we might be in for a treat.
Y’all just stupid af and dunno how to cc, cc a ret during wings and their virtually useless
Faced a double ret team today. Had every CD available to me and I was ready for them - or so I thought.
They both used Divine Toll at the same time and I died instantly. My log showed multiple 9k Judgements. Were they just lucky? Perhaps. But even when a druid convokes, there’s usually time for me to use one or two abilities to defend against it.
How did ret do in the AWC? Just wondering
I find feral convoke easier to deal with over ret wings, and balance convoke.
yah agree, feral convoke easier cuz not from 40 yards of safety and can’t immune while attacking you
agree that feral convoke is a different beast than boomkin convoke

I lfgd with a heals that was 2.3k in bfa last week, 1k games played in SL 3s and hard stuck 1405 highest rating.
What you describe is a real real thing, because what I described above wasn’t a one off. Played with several people at or over 2k exp last week from bfa or legion and it was awful.
On the flip side I found a war and hpal with 2.2/ 2k from cata and mop and we had a great time, played 16 games and got 200 rating.
You are definitely making a very good observation.
Just wait till all these Rets get buffed next week and have their 20 sec snare.
I miss the BfA Hammer of Reckoning. I have no feel for when the Aura is going to o off.
I will never be able to reach a warlock if he can play his stuff correctly, period.
The sheer amount of CC and Damage a Warlock can do counter me.
Yeah it’s kind of poopy because of that, you either need to constantly glance up at your buffs or make a weak aura / TellMeWhen icon that lets you know when it’s almost at max stacks.
Because their damage is largely based on RNG but when stars align you get sent to the login screen and your character is deleted. Blizzard made a huge effort almost a decade ago to get rid of windfury like RNG effects because they were impossible to balance.

Divine Toll has a 30.0% chance to cast 3 extra times on the main target.
I have one of those but I’m not smart enough to watch it.
I wonder how often people take the time to look at gear of the pally doing these crazy things. My alt ret pally at 184 ilvl has judgements for 2k hammer of wrath’s for 1800 and Templar verdicts for 3k while with wings (of course those are non crit numbers)
I saw a vid of a guy with 233 gear doing the crazy stuff that you hear about and he was fighting people in 215 gear when he did it.
My point is, pretty much EVERY spec can delete others when they are in MAX gear going up against people with nearly 20 ilvl differences. That same guy going up against same max people gear was like a normal match not even coming close to bursting their opponent down in a single go.
The problem with this season is you constantly have huge disparities in gear and power levels vs other players. But when gear is equal the game is actually fairly balanced which is why you see AWC matches going deep into dampening.
Why are you kiting while your healer is dying? L2p
Nerf rock but paper is fine.

I think this 100% the problem. I actually am not sure their damage is completely out of control (compared to the meta) it’s the other thing.
Between CD’s they absolutely can out heal most healers w/o going oom. What ends up happening is they blow cd’s (healer or other team blows CDs to stay alive). during down time he can survive and keep his healer from going oom because he can heal too efficiently, and blow cd’s again when ready. But the fact that they can 100 - 0 a player is a meta problem not specifically a ret problem. There’s several classes that can do this (mages, rets, Balance, and i’m sure there’s others. I had a feral druid 75-0 me the other day, who’s to say it wouldn’t have been 100-0 if i had 100% hp).
I feel like blizz couldn’t make up their mind on this meta. They were like, we want short games with a lot damage (mages). But then certain designers were like no we want a ton of healing at no cost (HPallys). and rets were born.
