Outside of nerfing stacking damage buffs like Ire there is no other changes that will be coming. People seething and malding whatever little hair they have left at the idea that a plate class is no longer a pushover and you can no longer facetank their wings damage with impunity, deal with it.
You will respect wings.
You will learn to kite if you want to survive.
You will not 1 shot pink names.
You will give up your rating until you learn to deal with it.
This is the new normal and I for one think its beautiful.
They’re crying because Ret isn’t garbage for the first time in a long time and can actually stand on it’s own. They’re crying because Ret doesn’t instantly flop when it’s stared at too hard like they feel entitled to have it do. They’re crying because they can’t sit a HoJ and facetank a Ret’s entire offensive toolkit and survive easily like they feel entitled to.
I play Arms, Ret and Enhancement for my melee characters. Ret right now has about the same level of tankiness as Arms with less damage. Arms hits harder, outright, with the same gear. Enhancement has more consistently functional Survivability with the same gear and hits slightly under what Ret does.
Full stop, flat out, people are pissed because Ret isn’t garbage and is actually threatening + difficult to kill, the same as the other A and S tier specs. But people can’t handle that. They expect - they DEMAND - Retribution be absolute trash at all times for reasons I’ve never fully been able to comprehend. Like they just feel like anyone who enjoys the spec deserves to be treated like trash.
Its simple they will learn to kite or they will continue to donate rating. Its too simple learn that pink names are no longer NPCs that you can walk all over and now you have to treat the class with the same respect you give to a dk or a warrior.
Malding and crying will be plentiful in these early acceptance stages.
Yes they’re and let them do so. So many years i have been playing Ret and its never been any good, the last time i can recall rets being good was in MoP and thats it and yeah maybe outside of MoP back in Wrath when rets who were lucky enough to get Shadowmourne they were good then to from what i can remember. But sadly the devs at blizzard cater to these individuals that yell, cry and complain about classes “OP”. And We will most likely be seeing some nerfs of what kind I’m not sure my best guess would be to the stacking multipliers for damage.
Also most of the people i have been seeing complaining are not even higher than the 1800 bracket and that’s everyone that i looked up from other posts with there seething comments in them.
I would also like to mention something that a R1 player was saying about the ret rework. This R1 said something along the lines of “I’m not even sure what they could do to nerf rets as of right now due to the new rework there are a lot of options even outside of the current talents being picked by the majority of players that could work just as well”.
NGL, reading this and seeing someone else’s character posting it when I knew damn good and well I was the one that said it made me think I was losing my mind for a second there.
If people like you even looked at the ladder stats you would know ret was already good enough, on par with frost mage which got nerfed btw. Now it’s just even more about melee meta, which is no surprise from Blizzard.
You obviously didnt watch the video, he pops wings and kills within the next second of popping wings. You’re literally saying have faster reaction time than GCD can even allow to not be one shot? He had earthen wall, healing stream totems, and -10% physical damage totem up.
Again, I dont want rets to get nerfed into the ground but you actually cant be serious?
