It seems like they meant to say dmg nerf by 6% because every screenshot I took of tooltips from yesterday are now doing less dmg today. How is this a buff to ret dmg when my wake does 360k and used to do 390k yesterday.
Something is wrong for sure. I know we lost our 4 percent haste but the damage decrease is way more noticeable than the 3 percent people were saying. Also, Wrathful Descent for Templar, is down too 100 percent again when it was buffed to 125% last week. Huge nerf or bug that wasn’t disclosed.
Watch out
You gonna have all the wokadin advocates in here saying everything is ok
Im still not understanding a rework that nerfs any class.
Why rework it.
To me a rework is something that is done to improve a class.
I was. Excited for the passive sacrifice heal that smart targets until I saw. You have to sacrifice mandatory dps talents to spec that far into it.
Terrible
for some reason its not showing my pally for my avatar, this was my old SOD char…however
i usually run sims the day before a new patch/changes and from yesterday depending on how many times i run it i net a 300k-400k dps loss. i understand that sims are not updated but something is def off
This rework feels that only helps Hpal, rets stills feels really bad, moviliy is worst, now we have to spend 2 points in freedom and can´t get pasive freedom with Steed, we have to choose, mage can choose every movility talent in the spellbook without choose btwenn one or oder. Divine P still only 10% for ret, this is amazing. Tier D Here we go
poor babies.
i have tears all over my screen
Signing off, Restoration Druid,.
Literally nobody said the change were a buff to Ret damage.
Ret damage was nerfed by 9% from the changes to talents and they buffed it by 6% in ST.
Which a net loss of 3%.
But I guess going on Wowhead once in a while a lot to ask…
Blizz will never summarize their changes as a throughput %, so you need to read a bit.
Here, have a read…
https://www.wowhead.com/news/expected-class-tuning-changes-with-patch-11-0-5-class-writer-opinions-348659
The design of the tree is better, that’s an improvement.
Improving a class doesn’t start and end at the throughput it can dish out.
Now that being said, whilst the tree is better and more flexible, there’s still a bunch of talents that are at best questionable in it.
There was absolutely no iteration made on it before releasing it, which is REALLY odd.
Furthermore, the healing they gave us is still pitiful
Well in all fairness, for a dps class like ret, damage throughput is everything that any and all raid leaders and mythic plus selection people look at.
We, as ret, aren’t taken, so we can use loh 1x every 5 mins and buff someone armor by whatever they even nerfed that to., as an example.
Or so we can sacrifice dps talents to fully spec into passive sacrifice, or so we can bop 1x every 3 minutes while healing that person simultaneously for a. Whopping 60k.
That’s true for all DPS.
You want a paladin for Devo.
And its between the 3 spec afterward.
They tune all classes to do loosely X amount of damage.
That 10-20-30-40%, comes from the class tree has no relevance.
So I’d rather have things in there that they wouldn’t tune the damage around.
We won’t be tuned lower in damage because we have more off-healing or because blessings gives a slight speed boost.
Those are classic-wrath philosophies that went away.
Conceptually this is better, now in practice, like I said, some of the talents are very mehh and the tree received no iterations whatsoever.
How is ret nerfed by 9% from talent changes ? The only loss is 4% haste and blessings, this 9% loss shouldn’t appear on the tooltips if it’s from procs or other stuff. What I said for this topic is the fact I took screenshots the day before patch to compare our dmg increase to see if it’s really 6% increase and it actually was negative, my spells are all showing lower numbers even tho we didn’t lose any talent that increased our strenght, mastery/vers, etc. So where does this dmg reduction to my spells come from if it’s supposed to be getting a flat 6% buff to all ret paladin abilities and spells.
In ST, if were to believe Wowhead analytics team, yes 9%.
Because we didn’t just loose 4% haste?
We no longer have Holy damage on AA which was 1.6% of ST damage, we no longer have Touch of light which was 0,4% damage.
That’s 2% just from 2 bad talents that we still took.
The 4% was actually more than 4% through a mechanic I’m not familiar with but was apparent when you removed it previously and were loosing more than just 4%.
4% haste =/= 4% damage.
I did an experiment yesterday and weighted my stats just to have a loose approximation of how much 1 point of haste was giving me.
It was 14 DPS.
You need 660 rating to get 1% which means roughly 37k DPS, which to me was 3.1% on the M+ build. (Which means I didn’t have Divine Arbiter which would be more affected by haste than Searing Light.)
Just those 3 things means 5%.
Then the 10% CD reduction on builders was replaced for Prot but not for Ret.
Compound all of this and add up that all these losses in damage also reduces the total damage that makes it into ES 12 sec window and it’s not a ludicrous idea that it was a 9% nerf.
Did you take screenshot before or after remaking your skill tree? Because it reseted the class tree where we still have seal of might, if it wasn’t locked in you were missing 4% mastery and strenght.
What is ST and AA what is touch of light ? Never had that. and if you read correctly I’m not testing anything with details and stuff like that.
I’m stating that our baseline dmg tooltips are lower, not the dps, or any simulations, just basic maths comparisons with screenshots taken of tooltips.
Yes I took every talent we used to have I’m a rank 1 paladin player. I literally am stating if you didn’t yourself that our tooltips and not dps is lower. Like it makes no sense that our dmg without anything affecting it is changed to lower number. We didn’t lose anything but details dmg return or sims dmg in theory. But in practicality we lost a good 6% dmg to tooltips.
Exemple that I remember well :
Wake of ash showed 390k on Sunday and Monday. (Double verify always)
Wake of ash showed 360k on tuesday.
I WONDER WHY WONDER HOW WONDER WHY THE BLUE BLUE SKY…
Wtf…
I don’t believe that, you’re trolling.
You self proclaimed being the number 1 PVP prot, this doesn’t checks out with your interrogations below.
You would know all of those acronyms if you ever were what you claimed you were.
But nonetheless, for those who wouldn’t know…
ST is single target damage
AA is auto attack, Seal of the crusader was giving % of holy damage on AA and it was removed.
Touch of light was a talent in the previous tree that was removed.
Did you fill your class tree before doing that though?
If you didn’t lock in Seal of Might, it would show up a decrease on the tooltip.
Look up mortalx on check pvp. I’m top 90 in 3s in season 4 of shadowlands. Top 2s paladin for all of shadowlands and bfa.
I have been making builds on YouTube back then too.
If you think I’m trolling, do it yourself and compare with pre patch tooltips.
I’m a pvper mainly since pvp is the only hard content for me now after soloing raids during bfa.
I didn’t use AA, ST because I’m not testing on dummies or touch of light because it was bad so that’s why I don’t know them haha.
I did lock in seal of might like I said before your just not reading.
What?
How do you not know those acronym but played at this level?
This is baffling.
AA means auto-attacks
ST means SINGLE TARGET
Those aren’t talents.
WELL THEN OBVIOULSY YOU WOULD GET A DECREASED NUMBER ON THE TOOLTIP.
YOU JUST REMOVED 4% STRENGHT AND MASTERY.
JEezus christ what the hell are you doing?
It’s like removing your weapon and wondering why the tooltip lowered…
I edited it to make it more understandable in English, sounded good in French but translated very badly when i re-read myself in English.
Like I said I LOCKED IT IN MEANING I AM USING IT OMFG, IM NOT LOSING ANYTHING I SAID IT BEFORE. LOOK UP MY PALADIN MORTAL TO SEE THE TALENT TREE IM USING OMFG.
Solo Raid ? The legendary REXTROY ? Please share more of your finding of the current RET pvp state, so Blizzard could improve the class. Appreciate your feedback.
Mortalx is not Rextroy.
Yes you’re right, idk why people mix me with him, he is EU and I am NA. Probably because I made way less videos than he did and only did a few hours of streaming. Though I was the one getting prot nerfed during shadowlands with AWC and one shoting people at r1 mmr/cr during shadowlands. I guess most wow players don’t look up who the top players of every specs are, only the streamers / YouTuber who don’t have university/ (8 to 6 job).
