Ret damage just isn’t fun

Stupid people like this guy are the reason these forums are ignored all the time.

Lmao!!! 10/10 char

With high ilvl gear it wont be 22k VT… A bit more higher LOL

Post on your main

my poor 200 ilvl dh got hit by a 30k final recknonign trough blur and darkness, at least the ret did not have to waste his holy powers on a tv or final verdict

Don’t worry guys. It’s just alpha, and beta, and the expansion only just came out and Blizzard is still on break for the holidays and the PVP tourny is coming up they won’t make changes until after the tourney, and the tourney just ended so give them enough time to examine the data, and 9.1 was just announced so obviously they’re going to be waiting for that to drop before making any real changes.

Then we’re 6 months into the expansion with no meaningful changes whatsoever and 80% of the playerbase that started playing the expansion has now quit.

Just stop with it already. Current Ret isn’t even close to BfA Destro absurdity.

Root, Fear, Infernal Stun, 2x Chaosbolt, Root, Fear, Another Infernal Drops and Stuns, Another Infernal, Chaosbolt, Chaosbolt, Chaosbolt, Chaosbolt, if you are still alive Coil and Chaosbolt, if you are dead then 4x more Chaosbolt onto your corpse for 300k each.

So stop.

Honestly Ret at this point looks like a barebones spec straight out of late vanilla/early tbc that for 15 years they just propped up by +x% damage/+x% crit talents everywhere

It’s wild how flat a spec it is.

It’s like cool they want to lean into the Vengeance against trangression to their allies but you just make everything a passive damage increase.

Ret had more depth a decade ago which is entirely shameful.

This. Very well said.
This is a problem with several specs, TBH.
MW and DH are kinda similar in this regard, though obviously not such large ‘problem children’ right now.

If they keep aura buffing DH’s to compensate for lack of proper tuning and depth of kit, you’re going to wish for S4 BfA corruption DH back because the front load damage from this kit is stupid.

You’re absolutely right that it’s a flat class, and if they only play with numbers… DH is going to be disgusting. Will literally global your entire team inside a stun because everything we do is based around Hunt, Eyebeam, and Felrush.

They could so much more with holy power.

Law and Order redesigned

Law: Holy Spenders now apply hand of hinderance for 6s
Order (Emancipate): Spending one holy power dispels the Ret paladin of all slows, two holy power for allies

Maybe I’m fried but 1 or 2 more things to do with holy power besides WoG or Slam dam

You took the words out of my mouth. Since Legion redesign Ret is either trash or omega too strong. There’s no in-between and its because they just give more and more damage amplifier.

Ret is only about burst damage. Greatly reduce that and give new stuff to have a higher skill ceiling. I want to play skillful impacting plays by megating a go, or avoiding a go. There’s nothing a ret can do against that. You always end up taking the go and then you have to wog.

WoD seriously had way more depth than what we currently had. More flexibility overall.

Instead of being a passive you could even make Hand of Hindrance have no cooldown and put a 1 Holy Power cost to it.

Volk mentionned that Exorcism could come back as a PvP Talent to purge a buff, could be on 10sec and generates a Holy Power. Honestly It could even be a stronger ability on 1min that reduce the spell damage done to the target by 30% for 6seconds. We’re really lacking tools against casters.

Final Reckoning could be reworked to be a teleport, so instead of doing 17k crit you make it do 2k-4k damage, and you teleport to the location. Apply a 50% snare and a dot for 6sec.

I miss having Execution Sentence as our big nuke or big heal from WoD. We could create a new ability that is linked by how much holy power you spent. Lets say it has no cooldown by requires 50 or 100 stacks of Justice (Thats after 16 or 32 Spenders. Every Holy Power spent grants a stack of Justice. It would do high damage to the main target, place a rune of light on its location and he is tethered by it for 3seconds. And launch an arc of holy chains to secondary targets (in aoe) dealing half the original damage and leaving a 50% snare and heavy dot damage for 8seconds.

Long Arm of the Law could exist in a new form, every time you have 3 holy power, you gain 45% movement speed for 3seconds.

We could have a disarm, or another short cd, undispellable cc to help us prevent goes from opponents. Keep in mind, we would have our burst nerfed (Final Reckoning being changed into a teleport). Aura of Reckoning can seriously be gone. It was better as the hammer version in Legion and BFA. On 1min cooldown.

Can change bubble and bop into no immunity, shorter cooldown defensives. We could get something that helps us against casters too.

I really don’t like either of these and just seem sorta generic if I’m gonna be honest.

I don’t think Rets need Consume Magic and Shadow step.

Give them Spell Warding and an Aura that distrupts magic. Like a Vengeance Aura similar to that of War Banner that makes CC or Damage DR twice as fast, obviously just a poop shoot idea and could be balanced accordingly.

This is cool, I think they should bring back that old can’t move faster than normal move speed on judges.

I’m gonna say something super controversial but I think Blinding Light not breaking on holy damage is busted with Ret’s current Scouter Levels but every class should have something that’s honestly busted.

Completely illogical but idc, there needs to be unique stuff that makes no sense but it’s WoW not CoD.

I like that more than giving a Disarm handout… you know what bring back the old Ring of Peace silence/disarm aoe and give it to rets, make it blessing of salvation.

I’m def cross faded typing this but I’d hate to see them just streamline this game to the point every melee needs a TP, Disarm, MS whatever

Game needs a lil more Bring the class and the player.
