not really gets old after you do it a lot then makes you think of the old days when the class was designed infinitely better then makes you want to stop playing at least that’s what happens to me

Jokes aside, this is the first week. Give them time. Ret goes through phases, absolutely overpowered and utterly unplayable.

Blizzard is unlikely to ignore the one shots so we’ll probably see ret damage reduced by 80% because blizzard has no concept of balance. Hence MW monks going from garbage to God with no in-between.

Mind games in a HOJ and dying in 1.3 seconds? also full burst setup trying to mind games a ret pally without getting kicked on shadow isn’t fun! I’m all for big damage but without a real chance to react is not reasonable

Eh, it was a joke but greater fade is not in the gcd, you can use it to negate half their entire dmg. I’m not saying the damage is fine bc it isn’t but ret can’t cc your entire team and is the easiest spec to cc in the game.

22k damage at lvl 35 is insanely high. This has to be a bug?

Same or better damage than BfA destro with the upshot of you not even having to cast for the damage at all.

Pretty neat, I’d say.

Imagine it like BfA destro had only instant casts, screw 200% haste, just go instant cast all the way, and stick it to a melee that’s not really melee because who cares about downsides, right?

They should stop making ret all about damage, and make them have higher skill floor with new abilities

That’s like saying in order to counter a rogue “just stun them”

Or to counter a healer “just cc them”

In reality it’s a little hard to kite a ret with unbound freedom and final reckoning and final verdict and judgement all hitting 15k or more from range and deleting your entire team

Ret is a killer in lower brackets, but in higher brackets people just trade CC for wings and call it a day. Honestly, if I played Ret, I’d hate the current status quo. You either land your combo and win or you don’t, and you lose.

Judgement slow needs to come back, tone down the burst, increase sustain. A 6 second instant and talented 10 second 1 man CC chain is enough to get a kill, just make it take a little finesse.

The most BS thing about Ret is Healing Hands. Just remove that talent and replace it with something else. Spell ward maybe, idk.
