I was comparing dps specs to dps specs. How cooked are you?

Enhance shaman to elemental shaman
Destruction warlock to affliction warlock
Combat rogue to assass rogue
Arcane mage to frost mage
Ret paladin to ???

All the specs you mentioned have an alternative that is top tier dps other than warrior.

i made no analogy. i did not make a comparison between two things for the purpose of explanation or clarification. i literally said not to do that. i made a comparison between same things…dps specs for the purpose of showing your claim to be false. in dps rankings ret paladins are not the lowest(as the title of this specific thread says specifically ret and makes that claim) and there are several specs lower. class does not define role its not specific enough.

and no, the dps warriort specs need buffs to be on par with the median dps value and they are bottom tier on the dps ranking unlike paladins dps specs who only need to be brought up a hair to the same median value.

I said CLASS not spec. A class with multiple specs, with one on top and one on bottom, no one is going to play the bottom. I don’t care about that, I live in reality.

I’ll admit that nearly all the classes being within 13% of each other in damage is decent balance for how complex the classes are. But Blizzard could easily make some more common sense tweaks to bring those even more in line, such as the ones I suggested: Let Paladins reach their spell hit cap like every other class can (just make Precision affect spell hit consistent with SoD philosophy, it’s that EZ) etc.

Partial resists are STILL preferable (are classes even being partially resisted in raids on SoD?) than total whole resists due to not being able to hit cap. And then designing ret around a spell as their main source of DPS with Exorcism is just dumb.

Yeah, and we only have 6% in BiS gear not 10%. Also, pretty sure 14% is SoD spell hit cap, not the traditional 16%.

IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT CLASS THEN YOU HAVE 2 TOP TIER SPECS AND 1 BALANCED SPEC. and you still arent at the bottom even if you are making this stupid argument using class wholistically and ignoring role. both warriors and shammy have categorically worse healers/tank spec and you would be tied with druids who have 1 really good spec and 1 decent spec and 1 that is also underperforming.

IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT THE DPS ROLE THEN YOUR SPEC IS NOT AT THE BOTTOM FLAT OUT. Blizzard buffs specs based around the numbers relative to other specs in the same role. not the performance of roles that aren’t related like healing and tank. just because your tank and healing specs are good doesn’t mean your dps spec gets buffed. it literally doesnt matter.

Its two entirely different things, and neither of which you are at the bottom. Yes, ret paladin could use a small buff and your suggestions actually aren’t bad. but no one is going to listen to you BECAUSE YOU REFUSE TO YIELD ON AN ARGUMENT THAT YOU ARE BOTH CLEARLY WRONG ON AND IS STUPID TO BEGIN WITH. like it literally calls into question your ability to critical think and undermines your own goal of getting a buff.

the only argument you have to make is “ret pve dps is alittle low relative to most other dps specs. how about increasing spell hit cap that way pve dps increases marginally and it doesnt effect pvp at all”. no one would disagree with it

Okay 2 things as pally on charts are bottom of DPS chart in pulling 4-5k with ease on bosses and I’ve yet to try out 4 tier AQ and twins sword still waiting for twins sword to drop once but with 4 set out of raid my exo is hitting 4k with fully buff I see that prob over 6k let alone having fast weapon exodin will be good next phase

We also have no +heal, mana or self healing on demand (especially in PvP), even Warlocks and Warriors can self heal more.

We need like 3 ranks of flash of light for ret :S it’s healing like 300 hp and thats only a ti of periodic damage, flame shock instant crit hit like 1k.

Enhance and elemental cannot be compared you can’t just swap specs since they gear differently. That’s like telling a feral to just go boomy because it’s better. You’re cooked

No it’s 16% and you can gear for 10% instead of 6% if you want to. Make ur own bis list of you want more hit that’s what most people do. You can actively sim to find the bis with 10% hit
