Hi I wanted to know if after you get your account back, like I have yesterday are we able to get our gold and stuff restored on your accounts that was all taken in the process mostly all my gold about 55Mil that I collected over the years. The hack was my fault at the end as I clicked a thing form a whisper. I am grateful I got my account back 100% I did ask in a ticket about restoring my account to Saturday 7th sept as this happened late that night. In my ticket it said my issue was resolved but sadly i am missing everything I had in my mail boxes on 2 of my characters at a minimum and then all the gold and the guild bank and on other characters. I don’t want to play the game in case i can get it restored as its sad to lose it all so this is on my 2 accounts Tutenstein2 and WOW2 Couple of the characters were watchme-frostmourne and allaboutme-llane anyway so I wanted to know is that something we can get back?
Thank you for any feedback in advance.
I think, though don’t take my full word for it, just going by searches I found, if submitting a ticket, a Game Master might be able to help out with restoring the items lost when the account was hacked. Though I can’t fully confirm on this, but I assume so.
This reddit post said they were able to get their items restored including gold after 5 attempts, though, I’d take that with a grain of salt. But I assume so that items lost including gold can be restored back to you after your account was hacked.
Okay well that would be nice, as losing what you collected over 19 years is sad to lose especially the amount of time I have spent playing the game to get to this point. When I got hacked they mostly logged into all my characters and wiped all the gold. I know exactly wen it happened so am hoping they can just restore my account to that day somehow. I will put a ticket in to see how I go. I just don’t want to feel ungrateful as at least I got my account back but would be nice to get what i had back.
isint this just when you are being hacked? As I did that originally and got my account back and they gave me full access back. i was thinking if I needed to put it under a different ticket or something. The ticket said my issue was resolved :(.
If you have the option to reopen your ticket, use it. Otherwise make another ticket using the same path you used before. Ask them if they are able to restore the items stolen from your account.
Okay i can reopen it, i will do that . Its sad to lose all you done for 19 years :(.
I am amazed they never deleted my characters though.
Very lucky. I’m not sure they can restore any characters ATM.
Thats okay as I think from what i saw they are all there. Its more all i care is all the gold that they took from me that i spent collecting over hundred of hours. Even i dont care about the items that are gone.
I’m no expert, but I’ve seen a number of threads where people did get most or all of their things back, but it takes time.
The initial ticket is marked resolved because you have your account back. I would imagine they are working are getting it all back but reopening your ticket sounds like a good idea to confirm you need that.
I would urge you to be patient for a few days, at least and I genuinely hope you get everything resolved.
thanks, I have now done that and waiting.
FYI , this is my out come I know they said TOS but like you think there should be some compassion after being in the game for so long and it was not like I was sharing my account and maybe there then needs to be a more robust system to attempt to curtail the fake whispers. Anyway bummer.

This is GM Ghiilyx, thank you for contacting us today.
Regarding your missing items in World of Warcraft, I must inform you that as account safety is the owner’s full responsibility, Customer Support does not assist in restoration of any in-game assets lost in cases of compromise.
If you would like to secure your account against future compromises, we highly recommend you to add a SMS protect number as well as a mobile authenticator to make sure no exploitative parties can access your account.

I understand that this response may not be the answer you are looking for, however the End User License Agreement (https://www.blizzard.com/en-us/legal/fba4d00f-c7e4-4883-b8b9-1b4500a402ea/blizzard-end-user-license-agreement) prohibits any form of account sharing, and account security must be upheld by each individual player. For these reasons, we will need to decline your request this time.“”
I wonder if this is a new update, I’m fairly certain they used to try and restore what they could.
If you haven’t yet, it might be worth checking out the Item Restore and Mail return pages.

Yeah bit of a bummer cause its not like I wanted to have someone hack my account and take all my hard work. I am going to see what i can restore for sure, but its not like you can get the 60+ Mil back I lost I have played so much on this game its a bit sad. Thanks will try that.
I must admit this is the first time I have seen this myself. Although it was never guaranteed that a restoration would be at 100%. It used to be a service that they at least attempted.
If at all possible I certainly would love to see a clarification from a SFA on the matter. If for no better reason than to make sure I give accurate advice to other players.
unfortunately cause I let a hacker hijack ,my account its just bad luck. One thing maybe that should not happen is for them to be allowed to send messages in the whisper system maybe with banned phrases or words to not allow them to try and shaft us. At the end its my fault after streaming for 11 hrs I got as message and I panicked before checking it out fully and shafted myself. Still again i think for people that played the game all their lives and never raised a issue they should have a tiny bit of push to band a bit of grace as a token of appreciation and good will. IT makes me now want to play the game anymore after all that I put into it being gone. I should be grateful they left me 30 gold on each character lol. Also they are so brazen that they left the person that joined my socials on battlenet that i assume was sent all my stuff too. I even reported that to Blizzard as that friend invite was after I had my account taken.
I hope you can understand that the policies in place go for everyone, they don’t cherry pick who they help and don’t. Streamers, new players, veterans, etc all have to abide by the same rules and GMs have to apply the same policies to everyone.
You might try reopening your ticket one more time. It sounds like the policy might have changed on restores but you could see if maybe they can clarify that.
Good luck hug
Yeah its just sad to see it al gone as it was not intentional. The only thing I can find i the agreement is this. I did click a link from a whisper and thats how they got my log in info and got into my account in front of my eyes I lost access.
Please take a few moments to review Blizzard’s Account Security information here. You must maintain the confidentiality of the Login Information, as you are responsible for all uses of the Login Information and the Account, including purchases, whether or not authorized by you. If you become aware of or reasonably suspect any breach of security, including without limitation any loss, theft, or unauthorized disclosure of the Login Information, you must immediately notify Blizzard through https://us.battle.net/support/en/.
I might try one more time and see how it goes. Thanks
Please appeal again. This does t sound right and maybe I just don’t understand the current policies but I know that they have restored items in the past.
Now in cases where people were deliberately account sharing they did not, but this doesn’t sound like that.
Good luck!
Indeed. In the past, restoration was pretty much inevitable. I find it difficult to believe that the Support staff have suddenly (and without notice to the community) been directed to stop doing restoration. Falling back to “your account is your responsibility, we won’t expend any effort to fix your mistake” would be a very unexpected turn.
