Resto Druid still has the worst runes in the game

Bump for resto rune buffs

It’s absurd that Priest gets super mana efficient high-healing rune abilities while Druid gets useless healing runes and our one good rune costs way too much mana

Resto droods have one of the best runes in the game in Fury of Stormrage. Actual playstyle changing ability, which was suppose to be the point of SoD. Look at resto shamans / holy pallies which play exactly the same as they do in classic

While also having one of the worst runes in the game, Living Seed.

I’m perfectly fine with Blizzard wanting Druid healing to be a more “dps while healing” type of playstyle, but if that is the case, why are they giving us these horribly garbage healing spell runes? Lifebloom is crap. Nourish is crap. Living Seed is mega crap. Wild Growth is literally our only good heal, and it costs a ton of mana.

Resto druid in vanilla was mostly just a Healing Touch bot, but now in SoD we’re pretty much a DPS that occasionally presses Wild Growth.

The problem with Fury and Dreamstate is that it forces one single option as a playstyle on resto druids.

Since they added runes for a pure healing style, those runes should be a good option as well. Fury can remain as a playstyle for people who want to be a hybrid dps/healer, but a pure resto with pure healing runes approach should be strong. I would say it should be significantly stronger in the healing department than a fury hybrid since you should be exchanging the damage for stronger and more efficient healing, but currently that’s not the case since the healing runes and resto druid talents are all weak in comparison. Currently you’d exchange damage and mana regen for just being worse.

Living Seed and lifebloom are two of the worst runes in game.

Living Seed is the worst rune in game. It was a crit based rune given to resto druid…in phase 1. This rune will be bad at level 60 in full Naxx let alone now

Yeah, even at level 60 in Naxx gear you still only have like 15% crit chance. It’s genuinely awful, like Blizz just copypasted the wrath talent into the game without even thinking about how it would work in vanilla.

And again, this was given to druid in phase 1. Level 25.

No thought whatsoever

It’s actually one of the first runes you get, at like level 5-6. which is even more ridiculous. Who the hell is going to take such an awful “healing” rune while leveling?

The only time I see this happen is with NS healing touch.
A 3min CD.
???

It turns out people make things up on here to give the impression a class is balanced because they think if another class gets buffed, it hurts their own class by proxy.

I’m convinced 90% of the class “development” was spent on hunters and priests.

Paladins and rogues have received wonderful collections of runes as well, tbh. Priest is the clear winner of SoD though

Seems like the Feb 27th incoming changes are a step in the right direction, but like the Shaman changes for resto are still a bit off:

I feel like from this point all they need to do is make dreamstate proc off crit heals and make either lifebloom’s bloom and/or nourish benefit from regrowth’s crit talent and druids will have a strong all healing rune option.

I think bloom benefitting from regrowth’s talents would be nice especially just because thematically it makes sense for a spell called lifebloom to interact with one called living seed. The bloom is also prone to overhealing so leaving a seed behind when you overheal would make that not feel like a waste.

Can you…NOT… ruin the druid fantasy playstyle of slinging wrath while dropping heals? Is it just too involved for you? You only want to cast heals, play a… I dunno… priest?

…incoming rune that makes HoT’s and DoT’s crit or …incoming rune that takes away this awesome and fun playstyle due to these people.

This is literally the first time they’ve gone all-in without any reservation about letting classes play to the actual full class fantasy, and we’re finding ways to complain? As if you aren’t getting invited to heal? I seriously doubt it.

Holy Paladin is currently the worst healer in Gnomer and by FAR the worst in PvP.

Its very strong. I cant believe someone is complaining about this rune.

Resto druid’s might have some terrible runes, but at least they can make adjustments to them. Can’t adjust runes for Holy Paladins if they don’t even exist. Count your blessings. At least Aggrend doesn’t play druid, so you won’t get crap meme spec runes while your healing role is left in the dust.

You can’t even use Beacon as it was intended and put it on the main tank in order to raid heal without putting Blessing of Light on the entire raid.

The wotlk version is way too powerful for a few hundred reasons…
I’ll list the most annoying one; as soon as life bloom gets on a target that target essentially becomes unkillable as at least wotlk version for a good chunk of time
Especially when there’s is no counter play (dispels for a heal only to be reapplied to get dispelled again for another heal only to get reapplied at no mana cost)
As it stands I can definitely see a power creep on druid healing after update
Any actual good druids are doing fairly well

Balance druid stuff is always going to look more attractive to resto druid because you have plenty of healing tools as it is. There’s a lot of overlap in the play style.

Maybe they need to give you guys tree of life form to just end this nonsense.

Literally everything you just said is wrong. Shoo, troll.

“Plenty of healing tools” ? We have 3 heals. Two weak HoTs and a mediocre slow-casting single target heal.

If you actually played Druid, you’d know that “balance druid stuff is attractive” because our runes are literally built around it. Blizzard is pushing this “dps while healing” playstyle on us, not the other way around.

I mean, ffs, Resto does not even have a Boot rune. Dreamstate only procs off of damaging spell crits, not heals.
