Earlier today, I was informed that the man that we knew as Glinda had a heart attack and passed away yesterday morning. He would be 67 next month.
Glinda wasn’t one to share much personal information online, and I’m going to respect that.
I first met him here in the forums while waiting for Classic WoW to launch. We started playing Classic and sometimes Retail together. This ended up leading to a great friendship that I will always cherish.
Those who knew the man would confirm that he was wicked smart. He also had a brutally irreverent sense of humor that never really hid his heart of gold. Glinda was generous to a fault.
He lived an incredible life, and I know that he will be dearly missed by his family, his friends and his community.
Sad to hear. I don’t know how much I ever interacted with him, but I recognize the name for sure.
We all disagree on stuff from time to time, and our collective interests aren’t always exactly aligned, but WoW is about the players, their characters, and their shared experiences. The pixels are just the medium that connects us.
I guess we’re all living on borrowed time, but no matter who you are, it wouldn’t be the same without you.
