One of my students came into class last week with a cat picture along with the phrase “Hug Dealer” on it. I almost had one sent to him. I don’t think he would have received it if he did.
I think that’d be sweet. But he’d hate that. He never liked recognition for anything he did, and he did a lot.

May he rest in peace. He was definitely a professional ball buster on the forums. At times he was the only person who would get me irate after reading some of the stuff he posted. Still it seems that he had a passion for being witty . I can appreciate something like that. I almost remember nobody on the forums except him. I hope this post doesn’t come off as being mean.

Indeed. I talked to the guy daily for nearly 5 years. I don’t have much of an online presence outside of here and Reddit (I ditched all other social media years ago.) It’s strange having a record of what someone has been up to after they’re gone.

Thank you for sharing. I can’t count how many of my posts over the last five years were with him, discussing, trolling, joking, and arguing. The death of someone I’ve never met has never felt as real as this. Rest in peace, man.
