Can you respec in this version of classic? When I tried it out over the weekend I went to the trainer in Brill (undead town after you’re done with the starting area) when I had a point into talents and there was no option to respec. Can this be done in the main city or is it just not available yet?
You can, but be warned it gets expensive.
Can be done by your trainers. It is on their first dialog page usually A line like:
“I’d would like to change my skills.” Something like that.
I didn’t see that option at the trainer in the inn though and I didn’t get a chance to run into the main city to see if those trainers were different.
goes up to 50g respec and then slowly goes back down 5 over weeks/months? down to 15g. most people end up with their respecs costing 40-50g each time.
I noticed that the Inn trainer didnt have that but the city trainer did

Secondary zones trainers never had the option in classic iirc. Thats from memory so dont quote me but i do remember going to stormwind in an alt because i couldnt do it in goldshire.

For some reason I remember not being able to respec until level 30 or something. Or was that something added on later?

You can respec at level 11 if you want. It just costs 1g.
You got that kinda cash at lvl11?
By the time I hit level 15 on the stress test, I had 1.5 gold. I was pretty happy with myself!
I did. … and I wasn’t really in need of respeccing at the time, but I wanted to check the price of it and if it was available, but just didn’t see the option.
I guess you just need to go to the main city to do it though.
Well then, fling that gold at your trainer to re-use the 6 talent points.
Word of advice, that low level, its pretty much throwing Gold down the drain.
Imma suppose that was meant for me. I’m unsure if the trainers outside the main city can respec you character, as I have never tried it, because there’s no reason to ask the trainer in GS or Northshire to do so.
I can state that I did infact, on stress test, at level 12, see if I could respec my character at the Paladin trainer in Stormwind and he would, for the 1st time cost of 1g.
It did, but you had to go a certain amount of time without respeccing.
I think you may be thinking of dual spec which was added well after classic. I think it was available at lvl30. Respecs in vanilla started at 1g, then 5g, and 5g more thereafter with a cap at 50g.

Looks like it was added in in 1.11.0, which is probably why I didn’t remember it being in classic.
