Resilient Keys and pugging

Just had a bad experience with the new resilient keys system.

We wiped on first trash pull on +12 Cinderbrew Meadery, ran out, reset, came back in.

We then had a clean run with only 3 deaths right up to the final boss.

The tank then looks at the 4 pack of mobs before last boss, the 4 minute timer, decides we won’t quite time it and says “GG” and runs out of the dungeon. The windwalker in our group immediately abused the tank. The priest mentioned this resilient key system needs a rework to prevent this.

Our group was strong enough to comfortably kill the last boss even if slightly overtime. Still get loot. Still get vault credit. But because the TANK is vault capped for the week, screw the rest of us right? Toxic as hell.

Maybe if someone has the Resilient Key they can ONLY list keys for Timing or Completion, and not standard. So you know when joining it is to time it or complete it. This key was just listed as standard so it was reasonable to expect a finish in this situation.

The monk priest and I all reported the tank for abandoning the run, hopefully blizz hit him with a suspension like those other griefers they suspended for intentionally screwing over groups.

Unfortunately, because there is no binding agreement or obligation on anyone’s behalf, you’re simply asking someone to be punished based on your very personal model of moral propriety.

I fully appreciate your position, but it feels like a dangerous precedent to set. Making rules ex post facto feels a bit off to me.

This is my primary recommendation. This would let Blizzard at least say “you signed up to a ‘In Time’ key, not a ‘Completion’ key.” The standard listing isn’t fit for purpose in this new Resilient Key system.

This bad experience will happen many times to many groups in the future. And will lead to many reports. They need to make it easier in LFG to communicate “In time only or will not complete” by forcing a selection from the already existing drop down box, on keys 12 or higher.

Well if the story is true it’s pretty dumb to leave at last boss knowing you can easily finish and just be slightly over time. Enormous waste of time.

Now obviously nothing would happen to the tank but personally I wouldn’t run with them again.

Is a +12 key, the only reason to do it is to time it for IO, if it is not gonna be time-able what’s the point of finishing it?
For gear? U don’t farm gear on a 12 lol

Not really sure what this has to do with the resilient keys. People have been peacing out if you miss the timer since day 1.

Practice, vault slots etc. At this stage in the season all 5 members of the group would probably benefit from repetitions on the boss. For the sake of a couple of minutes it’s well worth it. Some people are just unable to contain their emotions and will leave out of frustration, that’s all it’s really about.

Why not? +12s give you loot at the end of the dungeon and gets you loot in the vault.

What he did isn’t a reportable offense. You just wasted mouse clicks. They automatically track key completion.

If your key doesn’t downgrade, but you want to finish 8 keys for the vault, what level do you think those 8 will be?

maybe im missing something, but i really dont see how this is a problem with the resilient system. if anything, this is a positive for it. that tank would have done exactly the same thing, resilient or not. now the key doesnt deplete, u just go again. w/p resilient, u now have a HW key to do first.

giving the minority the power to hurt the majority will never lead to positive outcomes.

If I wanted to do m+ just for vault and not for pushing, it would be just 8 +10. Why would I choose something that is so much harder like a +12 for vault?

You’re not doing it for the vault, but when there’s 4 minutes left in the key, that’s a lot faster than doing a whole +10 for vault.

Do you know what the resilient key system is and how it works? Let’s start with that.

You are running +12s which means most of them are just looking for Score. This has been the way keys above rewards has been for a long time.

If someone have a resilient key, they r pretty much ard 2.9k IO and above, at this point if they just wanted to fill their vault only they can join a +10 with ease, like I say earlier why would anyone who just wanted to fill their vault do a +12? Let me guess, u never done a +12 ya?

Or they could use their own key and not have to pug into a key. Or maybe they don’t like affixes. Or maybe they find 10s boring.

Because not everyone necessarily plays the way you do. Did this actually have to be stated explicitly?

Not this expac, no, but probably next week. Do you think this is relevant for some reason?

Even if you’re just looking for score, leaving the key when there’s under 5 minutes to finish (because you’ve already filled your own vault) is just selfish. It’s really just about having a bit of common decency and respecting other people’s time.
