What happened: picked up callings & quests. Went to go kill big guy upper NW Revendreth. Start glitching ( that’s happened before so no biggie) - then go invisible. Fight finished, I’m still invisible. Hearth back. All callings and quests gone. BUT suddenly appears the quest to go pick up in Oribos " something Witness" which I did months and months ago.
I would try fully resetting your UI, it sounds like you are having a display issue.
Did all that first. Thx though.
I’d also try fully relogging, both game and launcher.
Sounds like you desync’d from the server somehow. Odd things can happen when the client isn’t properly communicating.
Did both, but will wait a few hours and do it again when pop. is less. Plus wait for ticket response. Though how they expect patience and pleasantness is beyond me when it took over a half hour of trying to submit a ticket and finally using a back door so to speak.
Why is there no place to write a ticket? Of course I do everything on my end before doing that. /sigh…frustration speaking.
There is a very easy way to submit a ticket, both in-game or through the website. You can either go the route of clicking through all of the predicition options to classify it, or choose to classify your ticket yourself.
Why is this required? To help whittle down the reason for the ticket.
To the tune of ‘this is why we can’t have nice things’, people submit tickets for everything under the sun. Often times, they submit multiples, thinking it will get them faster service, when instead it just bogs down the system. There are also things that players can do for themselves, but are just too lazy to go to WoWHead or google. So, let’s file a ticket! To try and cut that down, that’s why you’ll see articles and such with suggested fixes before getting to a place to actually submit a ticket.
It’s the same reason why they have template responses to tickets, to try and get players to help themselves where and when they can, because that can be quicker than a GM deep dive. So if that’s what you receive, please don’t think it’s automated, because it’s not. A real life GM responds with those. And if that’s the case, just reply to the ticket with the option offered that ‘I’ve still got a problem/Not resolved’, and it goes into a bit of a higher priority queue to help get your issue resolved.

You asked this. I answered it. It wasn’t patronizing, it was meant to be informative. If you thought it was me being a jerk for the sake of being a jerk, I will apologize because that wasn’t the point of me bothering to respond. This forum is one for players to help other players. That’s what I was doing. You’re reading far too into something and reading it very wrong.
If you knew all that, then why ask the question “Why is there no place to put in a ticket”??
I’m pretty much seeing red, so thought this was for something else when sent here.
Thanks for your time.
I can appreciate your frustration, and I am sorry you’re stuck as you are. I mean that honestly. But this forum isn’t GD. Trolling and being a jerk for no reason here? Quickest way to find yourself on a forum vacation. So while people exist to drive others insane over in GD? People posting here are players who genuinely want to help other players. If we do get a troll, our SFAs will lock them down really quick.
Either which way, I do hope your ticket gets responded to ASAP, or that it somehow fixes itself. I saw one of our SFAs saying ticket times are finally back down to under a day, so hopefully you won’t have much longer to wait on that response.
All the best to you.
That was kind of you. Not a troll, just thought this was kind of a customer service route.
This actually is a problem on their side. However submitting a ticket is on big circular loop. It didn’t used to be, and I understand the reasons they changed their approach. Still no excuse for me to literally not be able to submit a ticket in writing in a fairly straightforward manner.
That’s it. Had I realized this was a players only forum I wouldn’t have bothered on this particular issue. Thank you again for your time.
It is not “player only”, exactly.
This forum serves as an Information Desk where people can come ask about how to use the Support system, how to best put in a ticket, policy explanations, explanations of services, etc. It is mostly handled by volunteers but during their shifts, it is moderated and also answered by Forum Support Agents. The goal is to get the info to people so they know the best options for their situation.
Forum Support Agents are not GMs and don’t take tickets which is why people are fast to clarify that this forum is not a substitute for a ticket. However, this forum can save you a ton of time by asking if your issue is even something a GM can help with, and if so, what the best route it. Yours sounds more like a tech support issue/server synch issue or UI issue. That sort of advice gives you some immediate self help things to try which hopefully gets it solved fast, vs waiting on a ticket.
Right. Kinda got that. Thanks for the clarity. I was on the super frustrated train this morning when posting.
And, really, apologies to any I offended.
Should have read info better, should have heard with better ears… but you know, everyone as a breaking point and didn’t know, technically, that I was taking it out on another player. Reminded me of first auto response from customer support before it gets kicked up the chain.
This isn’t my first rodeo on customer support, but I’ve done it maybe 10X in 8 years. Most were at the beginning and probably nessicatated some of their changes. Can you imagine talking to a real person not once, but twice during the first year? I’d never played a video game since Oregon Trail. My sons helped a lot. But one customer service guy went above and beyond because I’d taken an unexpected break and was clueless has to why I wasn’t getting and achievement for a questline.
I’d learned by then about wowhead and other sites. To reset ui, disable addons (not that I use many - not that kind of player; wouldn’t know what to do with most of them)…also the logging out, even quit out and turn off computer, not even restart. Check internet connection, ect.
This one was just weird. I get the feeling I logged in at a high pop time; 5 minutes after 8 am. Took a very long time. Grabbed all the usual callings and quests - then somewhere in that fight I was glitching. Usually no biggie: reset ui, log off, exit, wait go back in.
But, despite best efforts I got reset to “the land before time” lol! Imagine my surprise? Logbook changed. A Covenant storyline quest that began a chain I did months ago. ???
I didn’t start out angry when I started. I geared myself up for patience and how to word it concisely. Then I was just going in circles no matter what combination of options I could choose.
Anyway, guessing this looks like a wall of text at this point. Thanks for listening.
It is fine to talk through it and we often make less than stellar decisions when frustrated.
Has the situation resolved or do you still need to sort it out? It is honestly not something I have ever heard of happening before. At least not without Addons or something going bonkers.
Because when I put in information it booted me back to choose an option. None of which was submit a ticket - or if it was I was sent back in the same circle.
It’s okay… I finally sent it to the only place that would let me even if it was the wrong category. I imagine it will be forwared along to the correct dept.
No, not resolved. A first for everything. I’ve never had this happen before.
Oddly enough, I learned on this very forum that even a complete stock UI with no addons to speak of whatsoever can get corrupted and benefit from a UI reset
Here is hoping for a speedy solution to your ticket. That would certainly frustrate me as well.
