Theres no strong reason to do WoD. Would you be mad if blizz reset back to the start with nothing changed and progress back with the few chages (celes/patches) but with GDKps Ban and harsher bot/boosts bans?
I would love it, without players trying to boost thierselves though stuff and actually have to make a commuity where gold is not king and fun is than 100%. I do not want to see 90% of chat just people using the market of gold to “win” is stupid.

i mean i would be kinda mad to have all my years of effort into the first round of classic prog to just get reset. because SoD is dead in its own Era version. classic era, etc etc. why does MoP need to get reset just cause we dont want to continue classic prog anymore? just put MoP classic into its own era state and let it die out like all the other era versions. right as SoO releases boop put it into era. samething they did with scarlet enclave on SoD, release it, month later “yeah we are done here, heres a boost for mop classic” remember that? lmao
just like 20th Anni servers, just pump out another round of classic server prog again. I mean the formula is right there, no reason to reset anything anymore. if you wanna start over, go to the next set of servers, simple as that.

yeah but a lot of the argument being made is do you think the current state of classic prog will be worth going through wod just to get to legion to enjoy inconsistent or poor states of the game? i mean the game gets farm more complex in the next two expansions and lot of people arent really happy with current state of ToT. much less we still have SoO to go through as well.

is that even classic anymore tho? They updated all the character models WoD and the gameplay is pretty much retail with dh and stuff running around doing parkour moves

I think if blizzard stopped releasing the same game time after time and looked after MoP, MoP would be in a much better state right now.

Yes 100%. Its still the early era where the base idea of classes and raids where simple and have that old game desgin . Wod was the start of the newer desgin and remove baseline classic feeling. Mop was the most blance of class desgin and had that foot in the harder modes of gameplay that most people want in retail. Simple and impactful. Reason why they are removing spells and bake some in others in midnight. Hate it or not Wod will not happen. Its base on players feedback and cata and mop data showed most loved both and disliked wod.

Cata sort of, I guess, but they did a bit of an overhaul to trees for it where you had to put 31 points into a tree before you could put any into another. There were certainly significant changes going into Cata, and while I personally think Cata is quite a good expansion, I’m not sure that was such a common sentiment prior to Cata Classic.
MoP not only has different talent trees, it has a different GCD timing. I would be remiss if I took your statement here as accurate… perhaps you’d like to expand, because it just seems like it’s an almost random statement without any bearing in reality, but maybe you mean something that I don’t understand here.
Most balance in what sense? While certainly I don’t think anybody would say 2s is well balanced at the moment, the forums were a buzz with people touting it had the best PVP balance of any expansion. From what I experienced, MoP is the least best expansion (at least in my own personal opinion).
I mean I don’t hate it; I just don’t really care. MoP Classic showed me just how good Retail actually is by contrast. WoD was better than MoP originally, and the only complaints I recall were from the extended content drought, not the quality of content or the experience.
In any case, it seems to me like the best reason to keep going with the current Classic progression run is because there is nothing else obvious to do with the characters than to keep progressing them until there are so few people left and/or enough time has passed that nobody will care if they merge those who have unobtainable mounts, titles, items into Retail…
But who knows, maybe ironically, we’ll get the least best expansion as Era servers.

You want GDKPs banned but banning them did nothing to curb RMT in Anni and SoD, all that does is stop the most popular form of PuGs from happening.
You also want to stop boosts? Boosting gets people playing their alts, without it people are less likely to play them, especially with how long it takes to level in Vanilla which we actually saw when they nerfed dungeon EXP during TBC. People who leveled alts went down massively.
People have their own definition on what “Classic” means to them. For some it’s just Vanilla, for others it’s Vanilla to WotLK or before the world rework, for Blizzard it’s just a name to tell the difference between other versions of the game. I doubt many would say that MoP is a Classic version of WoW and I assume it’s the same for Cata
Left retail after Shadowlands Season 1 after playing it for 15 years straight and I haven’t really needed to return. Played all the way through Classic realms and about to hop on Anniversary realms. Go where the friends and the gameplay is.
Yes but your characters are still there, you’re not losing anything you’re choosing not to log in you can come back at any time and play if you so wish.
Resetting everything, wiping everyones characters, their progress is a good way to get people to stop playing. There’s literally 0 reason to wipe Classic servers.
Please give us Titanforged servers then a free / paid transfer off this hellscape called pandalandia
Remix and Classic Classic are already making people do the content a 3rd time. If anything, I would ask them to skip WoD and go right to Legion. That would have back-to-back strong expansions and they can end there.

tbh ive had a hard time committing to this game after wotlk classic. I’d love to just play tbc-wotlk with QoL changes. Honestly dont wanna play anything other than wotlk.

id be mad at a reset. I think everyone would be. Let it die on its own. But most people who hate WoD arent even old enough to remember what the problems REALLY were. Why was it a slog? Why did everything get so boring? Same reason Cata og wasnt great. Too long between end patches to new content. With the accelerated rate that “classic” is “supposed” to be released, it would circumvent 90% of the ACTUAL problems WoD had.
