I have a warrior lvl 112 and am trying to rescue Valithria inside ICC 25-man. As a warrior with no inherent healing abilities, I am using the item “Pump-Action Bandage Gun” to help with healing the dragon (as it worked before when I ran the same ICC instance in 10-man). However, now, it seems that the bandage gun has a negligible effect trying to revive her to full health.
After every shot of the gun, her health would increase about 6-10%, but then drop to just about her starting health over the next 1 minute, as i wait for the bandage gun cooldown to reset.
NOTE I am doing this solo. Are there any other items/tips I should take into consideration to successfully get around this hindrance.
It will be a long battle. I think you can bandage her up to full but it will take forever. You are going to have to make a second account and level a healer to join your solo raid.
Or just walk around the edge of the arena and skip her so you can kill the frost wyrm boss.

Yep, do the skip, I dont think you need her for the achievements if that’s what you’re working on.

Are you on normal or heroic? On heroic mode the dragon has a permanent dot that drains her health over time. Makes it really hard to do with bandages.
There are two achievements that require me to “defeat” her. They are:
“The Frostwing Halls (25 player)”
“Fall of the Lich King (25 player)”
Make sure you kill the Liches that surround her first. They put a healing debuff on her that reduces the effectiveness of healing.
The next thing I would recommend would be to use the highest item level bandage that your character can on Her. The scaling for anything after MoP level content should be plenty to heal her to full in one or two uses.

Make friends with a healer… like any healer at all and bring them

Ah, ok, I was thinking of the meta for the mount.
Gee, it’s too bad there’s no longer a free profession in which you could learn to make more effective bandages with any type of cloth, and not have to buy them from the auction house.

On my non-healing guys I used to use bandages, but I think they have been removed for reasons beyond my understanding.

You must not be a tailor…

I am on heroic. The reason being I am trying to unlock the two associated achievements (The Frostwing Halls and Fall of the Lich King) simultaneously. The latter achievement requires me to rescue her on heroic (I think, at least), while the former does not. Still, I’m trying to kill two birds with one stone.
Though, I’m not sure. Is there any way I can verify FOR SURE whether “Fall of the Lich King” requires me to defeat her in heroic? Idk.
You don’t you have a tailor to phone? (sorry, stretching the stupid meme)
Give some cloth to a hi-level tailor to make you a few bandaids.
There are two different achieves actually. Fall of the Lich KIng and Heroic: Fall of the Lich King. And same for the other wings.
If you’re just doing the first one then you can do her on normal, where she doesn’t damage herself. The heroic version is only needed for the heroic achieve.

I think I overlooked the achievement description. You’re right: there is no mention of “heroic” whatsoever for the achievement in question. Thanks! I’ll give it a shot on normal 25 man.

A sub-component of that achievement is;
So yes, it is needed.
The pump bandage used to work back in Legion, I supplied a few alts with em to do some transmog runs.

You’re welcome! Hope I helped

That’s the thing. They shouldn’t be made by tailors. They should still be made with the old first aid profession; which anyone could learn in the past. And what’s worse is that they promised anti-venoms would be made by alchemists. So where are those anti-venoms? Hmm?

You can walk through her. You won’t start the encounter unless you attack the mobs or heal the dragon.
