Request for raid lock-down adjustment

Hi Team,

Our guild (Fallen Roar - Sargeras) was fighting for last-minute CN Hall of Fame last night. But we experienced an error of ‘you are not in this instance’s group’. We immediately reported to BlizzardCS on Twitter (Blizzard CS - The Americas on Twitter: “@Evitcet You might try disbanding the group and reforming with a different leader and see if that helps. ~V” / Twitter) and followed the suggestion but failed.

Next, we tried 20-man entering the instance at the same moment and pulled Sire. One member was kicked out of the instance. Confirmed multiple times. So we know that there was a character not belonging to our raid inside the instance.

We then used fight logs and Armory to see who the ninja was. With WCL, Wowprogress, RaiderIO and Armory, we figured out the character’s ID is {Removed} from a competitor guild, {Removed}. The guild won the race of Hall of Fame this patch (yes, we Fall Roar actually admit that and congrats to their hard work). But we could never imagine they are doing this disgusting ninja on us, just to stop us from earning the achievement.

On the last day before reset, our raid members all committed over-time to fight till the last minute. But just because of this ninja, all our time, effort, commitment were washed away and the raid became a hide-and-seek for 3 hours (yeah, we actually found the ninja, he died near the bridge towards the Hungering Destroyer). We were mad, sad, frustrated, despaired, but there was nothing we could do to remove him from the instance (as long as he steals our raid lock-down and is the first one entering CN, we cannot enter anymore). Even after the CD reset, we logged on immediately and saw {Removed} flying from Oribos to CN… We have to put a character inside CN 24/7 and hope for no DC happening, just to protect our raid lock-down. This is absolutely unacceptable and significantly affected our raid progress and real life. We are urging for a solution to this.

About how {Removed} got our raid lock-down, we tried to trace back but failed. The raid lock-down has been started since around Feb 3rd, after the Council of Blood was down. We are sure there is no spy in our main raid, since we all committed a 7-day progress for Fall of Fame, and there is absolutely no point to ninja on the last day, last minute, to wash away his own effort already spent.

However, any raid-wise event with difficulty not changing to non-Mythic may let lock-down leak out. It has been more than a month since Feb 3rd. We had RBG, alt runs during this month, which made it easy for someone to steal our raid lock-down.

We sincerely request the following:

First, remove {Removed} from our raid lock-down, so he cannot enter CN and ninja us. But we never know if {Removed} had another character who also has our raid lock-down (consider now-on from 9.0.5, cross-realm raid is open, this could only be worst), so we request for removing all characters except Dagugu (our guild master’s alt) and Logus (a former afk member) from our raid lock-down.

Second, we urge Justice to be brought to {Removed} We have collected enough evidence to show the link between{Removed} in screenshots, if needed. From the Agreement point of view, his and his guild’s actions have been affecting our gameplay and real life heavily (they made us not attain Hall of Fame, okay, but why are they still trying to ninja us in the new CD??). Now we have to spend 24/7 online, just to protect our raid lock-down from these perverts. This is absolutely unacceptable.

Lastly, we hope there could be a new raid lock-up mechanism in the future. Or just imagine some day, this thing happens on guilds like Limit and Echo during world-first racing. We are sure that we will not be the last one.

You might want to edit out the name, this is not a report medium.

Unfortunately GM staff are pretty hands off when it comes to dungeon lock outs. Sorry.

If you would like to see changes to raid lock outs, you could post a suggestion in game, or via the dungeons and raids forum.

I’m sorry to hear my advice didn’t help, Jiangxiaop. Unfortunately, there really isn’t anything that our Support staff would be able to do. Generally speaking, if someone obtained a raid ID they have just as much right to be there as anyone else. We wouldn’t remove them, nor would we punish them or whatever guild they may be associated with for it. Unless extended, a Raid ID will reset each week. That would be the best way to purge someone you don’t wish to have access.

If you believe there is some kind of exploitation, scam, or other nefarious activity happening I’d encourage you to report it for investigation. No investigation would be possible through the forums.

If you would like to see a change to how the lockout system works you may post in the appropriate forum, The Dungeons, Raids & Scenarios forum is probably best, or submit your suggestion through the in-game option located in the Support menu.
