Reporting people that offend you is toxic

I’m not mad that he got banned and i’m not “melting” either haha, why do you assume people’s emotional state based off of text on a forum?

Isn’t that the same for people gatekeeping people for heroics because they are judging you on your gear that they ask you to link because they want to speed run it for the badges? They might not say it in a chat, but they defiantly think it.

The difference is this, there’s those that say something and those that don’t. For those that say something are usually punished for saying an obvious truth, like parsing as their metric. Wanna know the best way to deal with it? Say IDK, I just like to play the game, and guess what, people can respect that.

So what if I am playing like trash? This is a RPG. BGs are a side game. This is not an esport. You have no right to talk down to casuals. I as a casual have every right to report you if you insult me. Blizzard has a very real incentive to monitor chat and enforce decent behavior. Just because you take the game too seriously doesn’t give you the right to insult others and ruin their RPG.

No this is an MMORPG, not just a Single Player where you can purposefully grief your teammates, play like trash and ban people who try to call you out.

I mean your response is exactly who I wanted to reach with my post so i’m glad you’re here but your logic is very wrong and it’s why people generally don’t play with pugs or talk in public chat because they don’t want to run into people like you.

It’s not assuming when you’ve insulted others and are trying to justify bad behavior.

I’ve been patient with you. You wanna treat people like trash? Go ahead. See how far it gets you.

Now go cool off.

My phone is being dumb and i cant quote the whole thing. I understand what you mean.

Are you trying to roleplay as someone whose on a moral high horse talking down to others? Because you’re killing your role.

I’m not but again…

You’re melting go cool down.

What matters is that I try. I don’t have time to be fully BiS geared and up to date on every meta strategy. Just because you can devote more of your time to a video game it doesn’t give you the right to insult those with busy lives.

This is the other part of it, people are not treating it like an MMORPG, they are treating it like an Esport. I mean sure, this is cool and all, but the fact that most of the players are treating it like one, is literally taking the fun out of the game.

Im out of hearts. Here is a heart ori

No one’s asking you to carry them with your Kara gear but at the bare minimum if you can’t take constructive feedback and improve yourself without crying toxicity then you’re just as toxic to the community imo

I always take constructive criticism. I always report stuff like “you guys are trash, f$&)ing pu——, learn to play re$&)(&. This is the stuff I often see in BGs. If I see stuff like “Guys stop fighting in the road and defend BS” that’s constructive criticism.

Op do you even know what positive toxicity is? It is when you strive to make yourself happy at any cost and you make yourself miserable as a result. It can include stuffing emotions like sadness and anger down into a place where you don’t deal with them properly. You have to put on a happy face for yourself and the world.

I don’t think not wanting to put up with someone who is rude falls under this.

You’re bad at this game.
Why?
Because you’re bad.

Sounds constructive enough to me.

This is because the game is solved, most people should be expected to play at a semi-decent level and if you’re failing to do basic things and you’re just stuck doing those things because no one has the energy or time to babysit you in BGs then they will usually call you out for being trash/etc.

Reporting people off rip without inquiring why they feel that way about you is the point of my post, you should learn to evaluate your gameplay even as a casual because you’re sharing that time and space with other people.

You don’t get a two week ban for a minor first offense.

:wine_glass:

You get it for consistently and repeatedly being awful and breaking the rules over and over again.

I’ve literally never been banned or silenced once in about 15 or so years there about.

If you’ve managed to get yourself muted or silenced then that’s on you.

I’d say try some self reflection, but I don’t think you will no matter what.

This is false, people have gotten banned for random amount of times for minor to severe offenses and there’s proof it all over Reddit where people who have never done anything face a perma ban only to make enough noise to get unbanned.

Maybe instead of roleplaying as someone whose too morally superior to everyone you can let go of your ego and understand that reality is far different than the fantasy world you live in.

There are thousands of false reports going out and when you end up on the receiving end of it, I hope you carry the same arrogant energy you have today.

Man if only Wowhead existed right? Or google? Or Youtube? Nah let’s troll and grief the 10 other people in the BG and waste time because i’d rather report people instead of bettering myself.

These types of comments are never directed at individual players or certain actions. They are always blanket statements of rage directed at the whole team as soon as the team starts losing.

My post is about an individual based comment, if people are addressing the whole team and you take the time to report them then that’s even pettier imo lmao that person’s words have no effect on you unless you let it :man_shrugging:
