Reporting people that offend you is toxic

Lmao you could’ve just not even replied this and walked away, this is what I mean you people are roleplaying or something man it’s not normal to be this sensitive.

Yeah maybe but like idk they probably shouldn’t be removed off the platform, there’s a big diff between overt racism and calling some kid trash but yet both serve the same punishment.

Insulting others is considered abusive chat messages and it violates the EULA. So, not only are people justified in reporting that type of message, but Blizzard has grounds to apply penalties and restrictions to said accounts that have been reported for this type of chat.

That’s toxic and not constructive feed back.

“Hey i noticed your damage was a little low there. Are you newer to the spec? If you like i can help you.”

Or “hey you did really well with mechanics but your damage was a little low. Would you like some friendly advice and tips for how to improve?”

That is constructive criticism. You give them the option and you come off as friendly.

If im whispered the quoted text, I’m reporting that. That is NOT constructive feedback!

Is there? Both seem to be lashing out at others when the problem is within. Having some time out to self-reflect or seek advice/help outside of the game world may be useful.

We’re kicking a real sh!t human being out of our guild soon and I cant wait cause I get to do it and its going to be so epic!!

OP is just trolling because it’s the topic of the day. Stop feeding them.

Yeah this is the problem too, Blizz coddles their community into policing each other while assaulting their female office workers and replacing pictures of women in game with fruit in order to make people happy.

At the end of the day it is what it is I guess but people that report people over small stuff like that are toxic imo

Stop policing how people talk, maybe in your head everyone talks how you want but you have to learn to live with others in this world and constantly removing people off the platform because you feel slighted is the most snowflake thing ever.

Quite the opposite, actually. People that report others for violating the EULA should be celebrated. Their work helps to clean up the game and remove bad actors from the community.

There literally is nothing constructive about “You’re trash.”

LIterally nothing constructive at all.

Constructive feedback would be like: “Hey, your a paladin healer, you shouldn’t be just non-stop casting X spell, you really should be casting Y spell more, because of Z reason.”

You might take initiative based off awful feedback to try to better yourself, that doesn’t make it constructive.

Yo do you actually play on Grob Alliance? Are you in a guild currently that doesn’t support this level of snowflaking? I’m coming back to Grob soon and I don’t know anyone there anymore (I left and now I’m coming back rip)

Lmao so you think saying racial stuff is the same as some guy calling you trash? You think both deserve the same punishment?

Do we like in some dictator state lmao is a petty crime the same as killing someone now??

Yeah man I guess you’re right, thank you for your opinion but I disagree.

Again not everyone talks like this and expecting everyone to match your perfect vision is just not realistic, stop trying to cancel people because they don’t talk like your fantasy.

/shrug well least i suspect why you made this post.

Sounds like you said your “constructive feedback” and was punished for it. Instead of learning from it, you go on the forums to yell at people.

Or your bored one of the two.

And i do learn to live with others and i give people the benifit of the doubt. Maybe they are having a rough day, or are trying something new. I try to be patient.

You’re all over the place with your conversation here. If you want to know what I’m saying, you can go ahead and reread what I’ve typed. I think that lashing out at others in-game can incur a time-out.

I also think that calling someone else trash is a clear indicator that someone has some personal issues that could use some work.

That’s literally what constructive critism / feed back is.

That’s literally what it is.

You don’t get to just decide “Nah, I don’t like how this literal interpretation of something clearly defined works, I’m just going to change it.”

And people don’t have to put up with your tripe either, so if you go off on people calling them trash and providing nothing but toxicity and useless insults, people are going to respond by reporting you, and then you can fume all you want while muted. :woman_shrugging: :wine_glass:

Your feelings on how you don’t like what the literal definition of constructive critism / feedback, does not effect reality nor change it.

Why do you disagree? This is OUR community. We have some sort of responsibility to maintain it the way WE want to.

And WE have spoken. This type of chat is abusive, and will not be tolerated in gaming anymore.

You’re delusional if you believe that.

Constructive feedback is specific. It looks something like this.

“Hey, can you do X instead of Y?”
"Hey, you’re causing the group problems by doing X, please do Y instead.

I never got banned or anything, I just was wanting to talk about this cause one of my friends did and it was over very petty stuff that inrl if you said to someone no one would care lmao, it was just banter but can easily be turned as a way to ban the person just because the person feels “offended”.

Most times they’re not offended at all, they bait the person to get more upset so they can have more proof to report because their goal isn’t to resolve this, it’s to deplatform someone which is even more toxic.

Not really man, no one ever really asks why people call them trash they just get offended. Maybe society would be better off people asked questions and communicated as not everyone talks the same way :man_shrugging:

No that’s YOUR defintion of constructive feedback, everyone has their own version of it.

I grew up in a household where we got told we were bad when we did bad things, we learned through negative feedback and found the constructive nature in it because not everyone is perfect.

It’s egotistical to assume only your definition of things are valid when you play a game with people who come from all walks of life.

Because I can? It’s America and it’s my right to disagree, I don’t care how right you think you are.

Again not everyone speaks like this, people have this really weird fantasy about how everyone should talk. Not everyone is some cookie cutter NPC that spits out safe word phrases.

No, that’s literally what constructive critism is.

You’re skewed version of what you consider to be truth doesn’t actually change reality, no matter how much you wish it did.

You’re just flat wrong here. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I mean it’s clear you don’t go outside much, in the real world my opinion makes sense because not everyone will react to things the same way.

Your constructive feedback could be some coddled preschool energy statement but my version could be more direct and to the point, it’s not a big deal that both exist but for you to only say your point of view is right shows a lot about your understanding of the world.

It doesn’t really matter to the person or people being called trash, because it isn’t about them. It’s a signal that the person calling others trash has some toxic relationships and is lashing out at others (people they do not even know) because they do not know how to deal with their own problems.

It’s somewhat similar to this thread, imo. You’ve created a thread to say:

And the example you give of conversation that should not be reported is:

This shows that you may be confused as to what normal conversation is. Now, I’m sorry that this does not seem like toxicity to you, but it should.
