you know, you can make a premade team with people of your lofty attainments and never have to team with plebes. Or make a ranked arena team, that will protect you from other players.
“That person offended me and I want someone else to fix the problem” is a modern mindset promulgated by Boomers getting old and the Millennials they spawned.
Back in the day, we had far fewer toxic players who could only insult. They still existed but it was far less common place.
I fully agree with reporting people who are toxic and insulting. If it was a one off or a rare occurrence, nothing happens. If they’re vile all the time - well, they deserve it.
It really depends on the nature of the offense. If someone is being intentionally nasty by calling someone “trash,” then they run the risk of being reported. Importantly, no single report will result an an action against you (afaik anyhow), but if enough people report the same person, then action could be taken. What’s important to remember is that if you’re not an a-hole to people, you probably won’t ever get reported enough to warrant action against you. And if you are an a-hole in general in game, then I have no problem with the repercussions you face.
And by the way, calling someone “trash” certainly is a toxic thing to say. You wouldn’t do that in real life to someone on the street unless you were asking for a confrontation, so why do you think it’s okay to do so in game?
By the way, 24 people liked this post. I’d like to believe that there was a time in our history when no one or perhaps just a few would like it. That’s the world we live in now.
You should watch Turner Classic Movies sometime. You’d be surprised by how censored old movies were. Sorry, but there’s more free speech in the world now not less. Regulating speech through social norms is nothing new.
