Why do I say that? Because two players that I’ve reported several times in the last two weeks for circumventing the language filter when naming their characters, has gone unpunished. They continue to level and play. So, I’m going to spread the word to one and all that IT’S OK to name your character whatever you want! Blizzard no longer reads naming reports.
Sure, it’s rated T for TEEN… because only kids will think it’s funny and edgy and cool to name their characters ignorant, foul language. It’s not hurtin’ anyone right? No one under the age of 16 plays this game… riiight???
Because you only want to spread apathy, didn’t bother reading the rest of your post.
Reporting matters. Keep reporting, whoever reads this post. There’s more than enough proof in this forum alone, let alone General Discussion, that proves it works.
Okay, read the rest of your post against my better judgment, alas. Your mistake is in thinking action taken is immediate. It isn’t.
Keep reporting, whomever reads this post. It works.
The report feature does work. But people can be idiots and sometimes rename themselves to the same thing. Keep reporting it. They may have used slightly different alt codes etc. Keep reporting it. They may have been given a name change and just haven’t logged in yet so it hasn’t updates. Its not an instant thing, they get thousands of reports daily. Just report and go about your day, don’t get worked up over it
Just do a forums search and you’ll find many instances where players had the their names changes, and some of the earn a little vacation from the game for renaming their characters the same name.
That you are aware of, Razinji. They very well could have been penalized, had their characters flagged for a rename and they simply selected the same or similar name.
The bottom line is, simply because you don’t see the results you want, it doesn’t mean that reporting doesn’t do anything.
I can absolutely understand your frustration, Razinji, but please don’t spread false information because of it.
