Reported. Reported! Gah

It was decided long ago that threats and actions of violence don’t fall under freedom of speech.

That’s not what is meant about private. It is not the government.

While, I agree with you, if Blizz really wanted to, they can “get me” on that lol

I am still stuck at “the world is not safe. You will get hurt and you cannot stop it”.

What kind of grandiose chicken-little statement is that? Because one player is butt-hurt cause he was reported in a video game, we are all going to lose our freedom?

First off, you choose to be here
Secondly, you choose to be here
Finally, you choose to be here.

Say what you want in these forums, nobody has to listen, or, agree. If the oppression is so acute, you have an obvious option.

Yeah, they are brave and always right, until kids are threatened.

I thought we were here to have fun and play games. If I want to be and adult I log off.

We had no choice, so we technically didn’t agree to them.

Just pointing out the obvious counter points. I’m not saying people should be ignorant but that they should be allowed to actually have fun and play the game instead of walking on egg shells because of idiotic PC policies that aren’t warranted in a video game.

You had a choice. Log out.

Not liking a choice is not the same as not having one.

Kind of a limited data set you’re basing that judgment on, but ok.

You have the choice to not play if you don’t like the environment. I am curious as to why using vulgarity or throwing insults is the only way some people can have fun?

First amendment does not mean you get to say whatever whenever. It just means the government can’t persecute or silence you for it. Doesn’t apply here.

This is WoW and just like other games the environment is to have fun, throw shade, banter, and tell jokes. That is what makes an MMO. If people don’t like the jokes it isn’t the comedians fault. They shouldn’t stop telling jokes.

Trying to make a social contract that removes the fun of being in a games society doesn’t work. Most players don’t agree with what was in the contract. They should of allowed you to not agree and sign it and continue.

Don’t we log into games to let loose and have fun. Isn’t friendly trash talk and fun banter to blow off steam from the real world nice. Isn’t it great to log into WoW and drive a banner through the player you just defeated and Tbag them. You bet it is!!! That’s why we play a games!!!

Again I think harassment is serious and that shouldn’t be allowed. However we are all here to have fun and we need to distinguish the difference. We can’t have fun if everything is illegal and you can’t say anything because everything is taken the wrong way. That doesn’t make this a game anymore.

That is the problem with games trying to be more and more like real life. Instead of being a place people can vacation from real life.

I am offended by your advice, OP. Don’t you know that if we all silence each other, there will no longer be anything to be offended about? Boom. Roasted, debunked, and reported.

You did have a choice.

Agree, and play the game, disagree and don’t play the game.

No one’s telling you to stop making jokes.

Just don’t make sexually harassing jokes, or profane jokes or jokes containing racial or ethnic slurs.

There is a pretty stark difference between paying to go to a comedy club to hear a comic and some random who can’t control what they enter in a chat box. You do understand the majority of WoW doesn’t pay a sub to be treated to your “wit”, right?

"Build your own blizzard! :rage: "

Just curious, what kind of punishment happens when you harass a worker until she kills herself? A nice settlement and hush hush? Ok got it.

Being reported is based on context, so unless you’re being a jerk to people, I don’t see why you’re complaining

You do understand that they can hit ignore while the others can enjoy the comedy show then. Honestly chat is a perfect place for a comedian to test out some humor lighten the mood a little bit. Again everything in this game isn’t real. People need to be accountable for themselves some instead of trying to cancel someone instead.

I just think we have gone to far in many regards that has made Azeroth like some modern PC cancel culture experiment instead of a fun place to have fun because it’s a game.

Again please don’t mistake what I’m saying for I think you can say anything you want and be a total (insert explicative here) to everyone. I’m just saying the social contract is total malarky and this isn’t the real world. It’s a game and people play game to rag on other people some in order to form friendships and enemies.

the world is a bad bad place right now in 2022 and even the past 20 years.

hell when i was a 4-5 years old i legit have a picture of myself with a bottle of beer and a smoke that my grandfather gave me. and that was common back then. i have it to this day. thats how people did things back then. people today acting as if they are never going to die. this reporting is crazy. i mean there has to be racial and lbgtwxyz and sexual and so on limits. but omg within a year there is going to be nobody left because everyone is going to be banned for farting.

Slippery slope fallacy is never going to be a good argument.
