I just can’t find the effort to feel bad for your inability to type nasty crap to other ppl bc “muh freedoms”
I am not being sensitive. I enjoy reporting people who break the rules. Why? Because you should know better, and need to be taught a lesson.
That is it, I’m doing a public service making the game better for all.
Listen to the Pirate. Her and Johnny Depp are good people
Also to add? This is a private game hosted on Private servers owned by Blizzard. Put simply you are in THEIR HOUSE you have to agree with and play by THEIR RULES.
Like she said. Grow up
They’re not new. They’ve been the same terms and conditions, forever.
We’re not supposed to swear. Same rule since forever. I’ve been suspended for it back in Wrath. Before this Social Contract and before the Squelch.
You need to take your own advice.
Have to give you credit dear sir you got them bites, 7 out of 10
Are you really unable to express your frustration without resorting to swear words?
And does that really so severely affect your creativity when the entire point of creativity is to discover new ways to do something?
I love how people think because they haven’t gotten caught, than it’s OK to swear. Sorry, that’s not how this works. It’s been a long standing rule. I got caught pretty early for doing so. So, I don’t swear in game. Outside the game, however…
Havent read the OP, havent read the thread, havent read anything (came here to escape personal crazy stuff)
But the first thread is titled as if its reporting me.
Im sorry, hope youre day is better than it already has been.
Not even that. Say if someone got super excited about something, like say some sick loot dropped in LFR or whatever for them and they just go “WOOOO EFF YEAH BRO LETS GOOOO!” they can still get boinked because of that 1 casual & trivial f-bomb, regardless if the context wasn’t toxic. This is a problem.
That could be an excuse if it was spoken. But it takes additional effort to type it.
i have just one word of advice for you:reported.
If you were to run down main street in whatever town you live in shouting obscenities, I’m pretty sure you could get reported and arrested for disturbing the peace (depending on the severity of course). Many cities and towns have city ordnances in place just for those occasions.
As far as WoW is concerned, much like the Eula/ToS before it, you agreed to not fill the public chat with inappropriate language. You then chose to do the thing you agreed not to do, there are always consequences when breaking a contract/the rules.
Nope, actually they can’t be.
Instance, Raid and Guild chat is not monitored by Blizzard in the same way that other public channels like Say, Yell, General and Trade are. It’s still against the rules, but Blizzard won’t step in, because if the leaders of those groups/guilds don’t like that language, they can remove them from the group/guild and Blizzard then considers that matter resolved. Same deal with custom channels that have their own channel admins. If they don’t like what you’re saying, the admins of those channels can kick you out of them, so Blizzard won’t intervene.
It’s when you swear in any public channel that has no moderation that they take action.
Yea it reeks of desperation and validation.
That pretty much some up 1/2 of the US
It’s almost like they’re trying to make it kid friendly somehow…yet this game is most definitely not kid friendly at all with the sexual themes constantly being pushed by expert creeps grooming young teens in communities with skill and subtlety(I’ve been targeted by a few attempts myself growing up and playing since Vanilla), adults well past the T rating expressing sexuality in every chat channel with no awareness or care for any other age groups witnessing regular game chats, and the out-of-date parental control features that don’t give parents any degree of protection against all these careless(and sometimes nefarious) influences.
Altering art and stuff sorta worked out, but the social contract has major holes in it that still allow a very large adult population in the game to expose children to themes far beyond the T rating or even victimize them. Where are the remedies for this?
This has nothing to do with making the game ‘kid friendly’ and everything to do with just making sure folks follow the rules they agreed to when they created their accounts.
These rules aren’t new, neither is the enforcement of them.
O meg, honey…
