Reported keybind

Blizz, you might as well make a button for reporting. I said the word awful and was reported twice this morning. This has created a very toxic aspect to the game. How did this reporting culture take hold? Awful…

I’m sure all you said was “Awful.”

I don’t speak to anyone at all. I am also a multiboxer so people are always looking to report me anyway. The reporting is out of control .

Context OP. Context.

If all you said was ‘awful’ and the context was harmless, then the report will mean nothing.
But if you in fact were not a nice guy with ‘awful’ then yea, you deserved that.

There is no notification in game when you are reported. You would have no way to know you received two reports.

The exception to this is if you are spamming and many people report you in rapid succession - a precursor to a Squelch. That will send you a message letting you know many people don’t like your actions and that you should stop before a Squelch happens.

The world “awful” alone would not get you an account action.

Game rules are a thing. Always have been.

Not sure why people think they agree to the rules, then should not be expected to follow them. Also not sure why people make up disingenuous stories.

It always is. No one on the internet lies or tells half truths.

A player tells you they have reported you. This happens to multiboxers a lot. If they’re not breaking the rules, nothing comes of it.

LOL. Come on man. You gotta tell us what came before and after the innocent ‘awful’ :stuck_out_tongue:

“Oh man, your __________ is awful!”

“Please, those __________s are awful.”

“You’re such an awful _________.”

Fill in the blanks folks what’s the most innocent thing you can think of?

actually it is, I dont rage post

“This awful tank pulled something I assumed they were going to skip”. Although I can’t imagine someone actually getting reported for that.

It was in a solo shuffle, I was talking about my own gameplay when I said “awful”. That is the only word I said. The two other players assumed I was talking about someone else. I took a screenshot of this and posted it in my guild discord channel and everyone had a laugh. The whole point of this post was wondering why people constantly “mis” reported supposed violations and if there is any action being taken regarding this.

Believe me or not. Doesn’t matter to me. I was trying to create a discussion. I am terrible at PVP and trying to learn but unfortunately this is the kind of toxic replies I expected on forums. I appreciate your opinion and the right to it. Have a great day!

Remember that anyone can report you. Anyone can say they reported you, and not actually do so.

It’s sometimes more effective just to type the word “reported” than to actually report someone. Also sometimes more amusing.

Edit to add: And, more importantly, people who are really reporting you are more often not telling you they’re doing so. They’re reporting, muting, and moving on.

Not worried about being reported because I did nothing wrong. I just think that the culture of saying reported has gone a little far. I see people saying this alot in BGs and just wonder how this became part of the WoW experience.

I watched a Youtube post from an RBG my guild played from the opposing teams point of view. My guild beat them pretty bad and they got reported for “blocking progression” (cant remember the exact term) because they said it was a carry team.

I know this is an MMO, but the safest way to play this game in single player mode. Don’t chat, someone will always be offended and report you.
