After sitting in dungeon queue for over 40 minutes, I got a group for Zul’Farrak. Two Warriors, a Blood DK and a Holy Pally. The Holy Pally stays parked at the entrance so I figure they’re afk, but the two Warriors rush ahead and start pulling everything - leaving everyone behind including the tank. I ask them what the hell they’re doing and one responds “my job”. When I mention they queued as DPS and that the healer isn’t with them, he responds the Pally is his alt. Mind you this whole time he’s being condescending as if I could’ve known that. He starts to neg me about “doing my job” and right before we get to the last boss, I get kicked from the group.
I get the Dungeon Deserter debuff, don’t get dungeon/quest credit AND have to wait 30 minutes before another long queue because another player decided he needed to make someone else’s night a little harder. Now I know this kind of toxic behavior isn’t encouraged, but is it reportable?
Is this a new trend of the forums to talk about people boosting alts in dungeons again?
If people are doing a carry like that the options are:
Enjoy the free ride.
Leave.
Attempt to rock the boat and possibly get kicked.
PvE proving yet again that it’s not worth doing.
Yes. Its a meta complaint because they get to complain about boosts, and the kick system at the same time.
But I highly doubt either happens that frequently
Or option 4: intentionally rock the boat and initiate a vote kick against either the carrier or the person being carried with a reason disparaging to yourself (i.e. “bad dps” when you’re playing as a dps) in the hopes enough people don’t look at who’s being voted out and they end up kicking the carrier/person being carried.
I don’t mind boosting an alt, but that should really be explained to your team. A simple “healer is my alt guys” woulda been great. I was trying to be courteous to who I thought was an afk player. Instead I get penalized.
Anythings reportable. The ToS is just vague enough to ensure that.
Will Blizzard action it? Dunno. If they feel like it.
Unfortunately, this is the way the game is played if you don’t have friends or guild mates. Queuing up solo is like playing roulette, The odds are definitely not in your favor, and you are bound to go home, broke and upset. oh, and the other kicker is blizzard doesn’t care because they put the vote kick system in the hands of the player so any jerk can do anything they like and there’s not a thing you can do about it except avoid LFG and LFD.
Yeah, I dont think we’ve seen a single case of someone claiming they got actioned for “abusing” the kicking system…
So you’re correct, they can report it, but unless Blizz completely changes enforcement policy, it wont matter
And I highly doubt this happens frequently enough to convince them to change anything
If its just they are being rude and inconsiderate its best to just let it slide then to make yourself a target, and besides Blizz will not hire the 100 or so people it would take to police PUGs and respond to reports and take action in a timely manor.
PUG and M+ jerks should have their account disabled from joining any PUG or M+ until they type up a letter of apology and deliver it to the victim in person, along with 1000 gold in punitive damages. If only we lived in a perfect world.
I doubt you’d get anywhere making a fuss about being kicked (even though it does feel wrong for one person to have two of the votes). But if they used any inappropriate language towards you you could have reported them for that. Probably not worth it after the fact though. Just move on with life.
There must be millions of pugs in wow, I would believe hundreds of thousands. I sincerely doubt it’s as simple as 100. You might be able to have ai police, but not human police.
It’s one of those things where Blizzard will just shrug their shoulders and go “well, there’s no wrong reason to kick someone if you can get the votes”.
If Blizzard ever actioned it, it’d probably be for anything said during the dungeon, not because the VTK system was used.
No, this is modern warcraft now.
The social contract, ToS and CoC, report system, and ignore system are all working as intended, and your sort of interaction increased engagement.
This is all by design.
If it’s any constellation, same thing happened to me on Blood dk. A Warrior was zooming ahead and killing everything, nobody said anything whole dungeon and they booted me right after gates opened to last boss ZF.
Out of curiosity I looked them up, 3 were from same server.
Because pvp is a good alternative???
Unironically, yeah.
The way I play the game, I will never be kicked from anything.
Sorry, I don’t enjoy getting farmed by premades.
I don’t do BGs, War Mode and Solo Shuffle is all I need to remain satisfied.
Hey homie. Delete this thread and forget about it. I feel you. It sucks.
Don’t let them drag you down. It sucks this happened. People can suck sometimes.
You’ll feel better tomorrow
War mode is a gank fest but if you’re the one doing the ganking, then I get it. Doesn’t Solo shuffle rely on blizz’s notoriously borked MMR?
