Why wouldn’t you post on the forums where people would be most interested in seeing , or discussing them?
If people who normally populate GD want to read about classic we’re certainly smart enough to find the classic forums on our own.
I don’t get why classic supporters are so intent about shoving classic down our throats. Who are they trying to convince that classic is better, us or themselves.

Yeah I would think that Blizz might actually let some stay in GD but most are made to get arguments started and trolling.
They’re all unwanted because, at this point, it’s probably impossible to discern whether or not a classic-related post is made with the intent to troll. The well has been irreparably poisoned.
It isn’t difficult to just go to the classic subforum if you want to talk about classic in a productive manner.

It doesn’t matter what system you think is going to be better people who want to do no good are going to find away around it.
That doesn’t change anything however. They can and probably will be posted here. There is nothing stating they shouldn’t be, that also disregards the fact people will come here and post. Having no indication of any said well poisoning.
This is why the downvote should have never been removed. People use the flag option as a way to voice disapproval because they don’t have a mechanism to do so.
The high elf thread likely wouldn’t be closed off and on if this was the case, for example.

Again, context matters. If someone makes an actual productive thread about classic it probably won’t be flagged. Most of the blatant classic spam are only a few sentences long, which says a lot about their intent. But even if a productive thread was flagged, the OP would be notified of the existence of the classic thread and could modify their behavior accordingly. I don’t see much of a problem here.
The only problem I have is people saying Classic discussion has no place in General Discussion (about World of Warcraft). Where you can post opinions on the movie here if you were so inclined. No rules are being broken.
The High elf thread case is very close to the Classic one.
And yes they could move it to the rp section since I personnaly consider it fan fiction.
Now I’m not saying that I’ve flagged it but I can understand the frustration of people with that thread considering how people pro high elves have acted on the forum and how Ion closed the door on the subject.

Common sense is a very useful skill.
If classic has its own forum then classic related posts go there.
If retail has its own forum, retail posts should go there. Unless ofc you are ok with us bringing in Retail posts to classic? Which you should be. You know those warnings on bottles? Dont eat or drink this. Thats because someone was stupdi enough to do it. despite you not really needing it to.

They need to start punishing people for abusing the flagging system like they claimed they were going to do. If they were punishing people for it then it wouldn’t be as much of a widespread issue as it is.
Nowhere have I stated I belong to this “Classic” or “Retail” only groups of players. This misconception is getting hilarious. Anyway, to address your post. Common sense or not, this is a place for General World of Warcraft discussion. Not, anything but Classic, WoW, discussion. No matter how bottom sore you get.
The problem is that most flags are done in a good way and might be just some misunderstanding. I don’t believe most people abuse the flagging system, just that they have different views. At the end it’s up to the moderation to take a choice to punish or not and since you can’t talk about punishments we would never know.
Well you see we go back to my bottle example. They didn’t need to label this as retail only, until… ofc idiots decide to drink the bottle of poison. So eventually i see them definitively making it about retail only. Especially with the amount of trolls.
So in other words… stop drinking bottles of poison!
Imagine the complaints we’d see about people being suspended for trying to get rid of trolls on the forum… it isn’t happening.
They would get banned and 404 really quick. I have seen people making that kind of thread not necessarly about that type of reason.
These two things are very far apart from each other in comparison. General Discussion is for General Discussion. It can be about, retail, classic, the movie, how some NPC’s mustache reminds you of Dr. Disrespect. As long as it’s about WoW (IN general), it can be here.
Then why bother with a classic forum at all unless its meant to seperate the two?

No idea? But that’s how it is. As mentioned before. How about the forum clique that just pseudo RP’s with each other in their posts? They belong in the RP forum. Yet here they are.
