Report Trolling if you disagree

And are you so naive to think Classic discussion has no place on a General Discussion forum about World of Warcraft? Like stated before. You can easily browse the GD catalog and see posts that could go elsewhere, but they were put here. Maybe out of laziness, or to appeal to the audience as a whole, but they were put here and it’s okay.

I’m agreeing that it is, its a nightborne warrior struggling with this concept

No. I mean to tell you, there can be more than one proper place.

So Blizzard may as well do away with the Classic forum, since it all belongs here. After all, there is no sense in useless duplication of functionality.

Same could be said for many of the other forums. Still changes nothing.

I think at this point you don’t want to understand.
The usefulness of this thread is at an end for me.

Good luck.

You might think that but Blizz doesn’t.

Context matters. People who make threads for classic without any real meat to it (so, for instance, making a thread that says “X days until retail dies!” falls in this category) are just trying to aggravate retail fans and contribute to the toxicity of the forum.

Are classic-adjacent posts allowed on GD? Sure, but that’s not why people make them. They make them to incite wars over the “better” version of the game.

For the sake of everyone’s sanity, just stay on the subforum that is specifically earmarked for classic.

Dude. It’s almost like they created an ENTIRE SECTION of the forums for a specific subset of the playerbase to congregate and talk about their specific version of the game. Wow!

I’m not for sure how someone’s excitement over something is taken as “aggravation” for people. Otherwise, I agree with you.

I know, it’s amazing isn’t it? Still doesn’t change the fact posts containing information about classic only belong in one place.

Oh, if only it were excitement instead of continuous provocation threads like these and dozens of others.

Now this we can agree on.

Sorry, but I have no control over what other people choose to type. Neither does anyone else. Doesn’t make their posts “not welcomed here because I said so” though.

This. Either trolling or spam. Both qualify in that instance.

Actually does, since it’s trolling, spam, and provocation.

I have yet to see a thread that expresses genuine excitement. Virtually all of them that end up on GD are made with the implicit intention of riling up retail fans. If you genuinely wanted to just talk about classic, why wouldn’t you just use the subforum dedicated to that purpose?

Posts made with the intent to start arguments are the definition of trolling, which is why they are flagged as such.

So you know why someone flagged a post, and the possibility of trolling isn’t one of them?

Yet, the expression here is “EVERY POSTS about classic is troll/spam!” When in reality that isn’t true. Pick an argument. Either they are all unwanted, or they aren’t.

They are unwanted because they have a dedicated and highly active subforum.

They are unwanted because the majority of them are incendiary provocations against people who actually play the live version of the game and aren’t on the Classic hype train. The superiority complex from Classic megafans has soured GD on their presence completely, if you haven’t noticed.
