Report Trolling if you disagree

As soon as WoW began to have shared logins with Facebook, we got a Blizzard wide, Facebook style report system, dislike button was removed just before it was suggested they do the merge and hearts were added instead of thumbs up AND worse of all, Ive been seeing quite a few people complaining about getting reported for trolling and they have no clue what they did. I currently have a notification saying I have been flagged and am under watch… oddest thing about it? I have zero clue what I did as it was not mentioned.

What company can honestly hope to stop people from doing something if they NEVER tell them what they did. Ive seen quite a few people complaining about this happening to them as well. Last time this happened to me I submitted a ticket to ask why… they refused to answer. it basically goes like this, if someone does not like what you are saying, they can report you and you get a warning. It is automated the GM in the ticket told me, that is why it is so easily able to be abused.

These new setups for the forums are only creating a less social environment.

I see nothing wrong with this. Then again, I’m not a speech police-person.

don’t be a troll now, op, you have no idea why the threads were reported.

Agreed. Also don’t blind me “bruh”.

It doesn’t matter if it is stated, Blizz must not want them here or they wouldn’t be deleting them or moving them.

Thank you for clarifying your points.

I’d give you thirty upvotes if I could for this. Well, I can, but that takes forever. I support you in this :hugs:

Basically implied when there is a community forum titled “Classic General Discussion” and classic posts get moved there.

Big time!!

Yeah but like, if it’s implied someone has to actually think about it instead of making knee-jerk emotional reactions when they get removed from GD.

Implied isn’t that same thing as “against the rules” “not allowed” or, as stated before. The truth.

Believe They are just trying to keep certain topics contained to particular forums, as to prevent spamming. Seriously doubt most folks in general discussion has a problem with someone who wants to discuss, or make a classic thread in general on occasion, as long as discussion is kept in one thread. Got to admit that the classic wow topic is being spammed in GD a lot. I guess it is because folks are excited that it soon going live which is fine, but the spamming of it is not.

And if you look out your left-side window, valued passengers, you will see someone who missed the point.

Thank you. This is an accurate description of what I see as well.

And if you look to your left, you will see no amount of sore bottoms changes the facts.

This is mostly because people don’t understand that moderators are more like executors/firefighters. They aren’t the judges, the judge is the community. And the CoC leaves way to interpretations. So the moderators aren’t the one setting the “bar”. But like I’ve said before there’s a couple easy tips to follow.

  1. be polite
  2. make sure you aren’t spamming by verifying if there are other threads that talk about the subject if you want to post a new thread.
  3. Have empathy
  4. Try to not talk about anything that relate to LFR/streamers and a couple others touchy subject which include talking about mainly Classic in the GD section.
  5. Always try to have a constructive approach.

I agreed with you up until point 4 of course. Because, Classic, shouldn’t be a “touchy subject” on World of Warcraft General Discussion.

So are you so stupid that the name WOW Classic General Discussion isn’t for Classic WOW are does Blizzard need to rename the General Discussion fourms WOW Retail General Discussion for you to comprehend this concept.

Those touchy subjects can be aboarded (as I said try not to) and if you follow the other rules it might even stay. But at some point, if your target audience in that case is the Classic community maybe you should post in the Classic forums.

You mean to tell me that the forum entitled WoW Classic General Discussion isn’t the proper place for WoW Classic discussion?

Abuse of the flagging system will continue until CMs actually start punishing it.

I personally think there’s a bias at play, with them letting certain false-flaggings go by if they disagree with it, but I can’t prove anything.
