Replacing shadow spec

The Exorcist: Damage

After the downfall of N’Zoth, priests renounced shadow magic. In the place of the shadow priests arose exorcists. Exorcists rip evil from their target through expert marksmanship, weilding a pistol and a prayer book.

*note, the abilities that come in twos are the same ability with a different weapon, the top ones are pistol abilities, the bottom are prayer book abilities.

(Passive) Exorcise: Your spells have a chance to rip an evil spirit from their target, dealing (25% int) holy damage to them and granting you 10 dark energy.

(Passive) Dark Overload: Having too much dark energy causes you to lose 50% max health and all your dark energy.

Quick Switch:(instant) Switch between using your pistol and prayer book

Pistol Shot:(instant) Shoot your target for (45% int) physical damage. (1.5s CD)
Smite:(1.5s Cast) Smite an enemy for (45% int) Holy Damage

Barbed Shot:(2s cast) Shoot your target with a barbed bullet for (5% int) holy damage and then (100% int) holy damage over 20 seconds.
Holy Fire: (0.5s cast) Burn your target for (5% int) holy damage and then (100% int) holy damage over 20 seconds.

Dark Barrage: (4s channel, 25% dark energy per seccond) unload your rounds and expell dark energy dealing (100% shadow damage over 4 seconds.
Expel Evil: (instant, 100% current dark energy) Expel all the evil spirits you have and direct them at your target dealing ([dark energy]% int) shadow damage.

Flash heal: (1.5s cast, 3% base mana) Calls upon holy magic to heal an ally for (45% int).

I just thought of Solomon Kane, whoa.

What do the forums have against Shadow priest?

Any particular reason for this or just because you want to get rid of Shadow?

How about…

The complete removal of Void Form and Insanity (which, a LOT of the Priest community wants). MoP’s Mastery brought back (all dots have a chance to tick twice). Shadow Orbs MAYBE, just like MoP would empower Devouring Plague.

Then incorporate WotLK’s T10 Mind Flay time and reduction into the spec, learned passively at say level 40. Mind Flay would channel 20% faster and deal damage every .8 seconds.

Vampiric Embrace brought back as a 30 minute buff. ALL single target damage you do is convereted into healing to up to 5 nearby party members (more in raids) say 3% or so. All AoE damage is converted into 1% healing.

I like shadow priest.

I really liked how it was at the start of Legion though. They actually nailed the “descent into madness” feel. You felt like you were going crazy trying to keep void form up. If you did it well you could crush meters.

How specs should be imo. High skill ceilings.

Legit.

Makes me feel more strongly about freeing the Old Goddess Xal’Atath was the right move.

Budget locks are weird. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: :blue_heart:

That’s not fair. If the Legion class campaigns taught us anything, Priests are wannabe Paladins, not discount Locks.

Yes, I am still mad about them having Priests be the damsel in distress in their own class campaign.

And not damsel in distress that the Paladins appear to save…

Damsel in distress that goes to beg the Paladins to save them. I got so sick of that campaign.

People hated Delas Moonfang for leaving. Man, I wanted to do the same after seeing that class campaign.

Yeah. I get that they were trying to show that the two are related but they completely dropped the ball on that. If there had been some sort of parity it would’ve been a lot better.

For example, they could’ve still had Priests ask (ask, not beg) for assistance from the Paladins for their martial prowess but then they should’ve had another part where the Paladins came to request aid from the Priests for something (a curse that they couldn’t stop/cure, for example).

If they wanted their Order Halls to interact, they should’ve done it like they did when the Deathlord went to raise Tirion. Sure, the Ebon Blade steamrolled them in Light’s Hope until the Light itself had to get involved but they didn’t make the PC Highlord sit there and get their stuff handed to them.

Good ideas, but lets be honest it will never happen. There has been so many Ideas proposed by players on how classes could be improved/modified. Blizzard has never listened to any. Save your time and creativity for something else.

They did it for Shamans, here’s hoping they do it for SPriests

What’s wrong with insanity?

I’ll barter my hardest! I’m a goblin with access to electricity and water. And fire. I feel like this shouldn’t be overlooked.

Edit @above; Insanity is clunky and weird and Void Form is obnoxious to maintain. (inb4 L2P scrub lulz. People can do well with mechanics and still hate them. Actually, I reckon the players doing outstandingly well with it understand it best, and are worth listening to.)

read priest forums. Most people hate it.

The Blizzard devs: Okay, we totally hear you guys. Totally understand. You hate void form and insanity but hear us out for a second. How about now we bring StM back, because you guys LOVED the mechanic so much BUT we’re going to make it new and exciting! If you kill the target this time before your instanity runs out, you live! Isn’t that great guys?!

Nail on the head.

It’s like uhm, NO THANK YOU. This is what, the 3rd time S2M has been redesigned? What in the good book’s name. Please give Priests the same treatment as Shamans D:
