Replace Survival with Ammunition Spec

That’s precisely my point here.

You cannot make a comparison of MoP/WoD MM and SV while including talents as they were specifically designed to be the same for both specs(with a little variation in WoD).

But again, for what was intended with specs/spec design prior to Legion, they were perfectly fine.

Post-WoD? Not so much ofc. But that’s not part of the justification for why RSV was removed now, is it? It certainly does not support the removal of the spec.

I’ll still believe with the outline of the spec we have now it would be not a stretch for blizzard to put the effort in and make the spec be both a ranged and melee spec

Can it be done? Absolutely.

Should it? I would argue not.

Why? Because I seriously doubt that the outcome would satisfy both parties.
Based solely on what each side actually wants from their respective theme/fantasy/playstyle.

I did some more work on it.

My suggestion:
Continue use of 2-Hander as main weapon, regardless of arcane shot or steady shot use, the below must be usable with a 2-Hander.
Replace Kill Command with Explosive Shot (see below)
Replace Coordinated Assault with Black Arrow (see below)
Rework Birds of Prey to Scent of Blood ([Name in Work])

Explosive Shot: [1 charge] You fire and explosive charge into the enemy target, dealing X Fire damage. The charge will blast the target every second for an additional 2 sec. (Has a 25% Chance to immediately reset its cooldown). Generates 15 Focus.

Black Arrow: Fires a Black Arrow at the target, increasing damage done to the target by 20% and dealing X shadow damage over 20 sec. While Black Arrow is active, Explosive Shot’s chance to reset is increased by 25%.

  • this is functionally the same as Coordinated Assault but unreliant on the pet. it also gives the lock and load proc.

Butchery Talent: Carve now causes your pet to thrash up to 5 nearby enemies, dealing X Bleed damage and an additional X Bleed damage over 15 sec.

Blood Seeker Talent: Raptor Strike (Mongoose Bite) causes your pet to Rake the target, dealing X Bleed damage and an additional X Bleed damage over 15 sec.

Scent of Blood: Attacking the bleeding/DOT’d target with Raptor/Mongoose or Carve extends the Duration of Black Arrow

yes i posted this in the other thread. but i must have it receive attention. thank you

Both would just have to be adults and meet in the middle I guess

Then it could work

Recon that’s how they should be designing specs anyways

did some more research and had to fix my suggestion once more. It messes with a talent “wildfire infusion.” so just reread through it quick.

  • was 10% base but with the other application options of bleeds 10% per bleeding target = 50% and that would be nerfed quickly.

Scent of Blood: Attacking the bleeding/DOT’d target with Raptor/Mongoose or Carve extends the Duration of Black Arrow by 1.5 sec.

  • literally a direct replacement for Birds of Prey vs Coordinated Assault.

Kill Command becoming Explosive Shot, and Butchery becoming a Bleed talent would indirectly cause a rework of the talent Wildfire Infusion.

  • Original: Shrapnel Bomb: Shrapnel pierces the target causing Raptor Strike and Carve to apply a bleed for 9 sec that stacks up to 3 times

  • Rework: Shrapnel Bomb: deals x damage to currently bleeding targets.

  • Original: Pheromone Bomb: Kill Command has a 100% chance to reset against targets coated with Pheromones.

  • Rework: Incendiary Bomb: Explosive Shot cause the target and 4 nearby enemies to Catch Flame and burn for X fire damage over 9 seconds. Explosive Shot extends Catch Flame by 4 sec.

  • Original - No Change: Volatile Bomb: Reacts violently with poison, causing an extra explosion against enemies suffering from your Serpent Sting and refreshes your Serpent Stings.

This would be sort of true if it was the only option/solution available.

It, however, isn’t.

We can get RSV back without hurting MSV and without implementing it as nothing more than a sub-spec of MM. We can get it back as it’s own, fully-realised, specialization with the same depth as what can be found in all other specs.

that wont be happening for sometime though, at least an entire expansion 2 years at least then.

Most likely not no.

I still won’t support the idea of merging either MM+RSV or creating some sort of middle-ground between MSV+RSV.

If that happens, it will deff not become a well-developed/realised spec of it’s own anytime soon(timeframe: years). If ever.

And again, a middle-ground/merged version, is not what most players have been asking for.

Sad we don’t have enough faith in the devs to pull something like that off

I think that blame is more on them than anyone else. It says more to me that a community year after year has more complaints than compliments to an expansion. If they put more focus on internal class design (class -> spec) rather than external class design (Covenants -> Spells -> talent track -> conduits, and Legendaries), then there would be more simplicity and likely more love.

There are players that come and go so frequently hearing about hope each expansion, giving it a chance, and the expansion falls short; but they come back each and every year for that hope. None-the-less, the game doesnt get good till the last patch.

Hard to have faith when you are upset so often; the player base has pessimistic hope.

Wait, where did they unlearn this lesson before the unpruning of useless skills?

This, honestly.

I’m so tired of having a subpar experience excused away only by, effectively, “It feels fine once you get BiS Legos.”

Like, is there any world where being fine only after initially-distant-point-X makes that thing any more okay?

Yep, agreed.
