Replace "Slice and Dice" With an "Icy-Talons"-like Buff

Yay for button fetishists!

Not really.

Get rid of Slice N Dice?!

How bout NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Because it adds literally no complexity to the spec and slows down your opener for no reason; any rogue worth their salt is going to have a 100% uptime on S&D so it might as well be passive.

I don’t want to be self-buffing while the arms warrior has already eliminated the pack with warbreaker and bladestorm.

There’s no skill at using slice and dice. With the right spec/talent, you don’t even have to press it to activate it.

It’s lame. I like what I get from it, but it’s lame.

If a pack dies so quick you can’t put up a 1cp SND then… don’t?

with talents neither assassination nor sub really need to worry about SND after the initial cast, don’t know what combat does though tbh.

Apparently it does add complexity if most players don’t have 100% uptime on it. Rogues are doing far more damage than warriors in mythics and raids so I dunno why arms warriors are your metric of good design. If you don’t want to be self buffing and want to just smash buttons into the crowd maybe try a monk or warrior instead of trying to get the whole class ruined just for you?

There are a couple of talents that give temp buff to our crit/mastery (Cold Blood/ Thistle Tea) that add a meaningful addition to toolkit. Slice and dice just also exists.

It’s an iconic rogue ability, I’d rather not see it gone again.

Yea, because removing a single self-buff that could easily be baked in as a passive will ruin the class. It isn’t classic where you only have around 3 buttons to press to S&D means you actually get to press something.

Where are you getting that most players don’t have a 100% uptime?

Just pulled up the top outlaw rogue parse on Eranog and the guy has a 98.87% uptime on Slice and Dice; willing to bet 99% of all logs have at least 95% uptime.

Fair enough point there

Yea, i put it up there with warrior stances, shaman totems, paladin auras and honestly, rogue poisons.

The game is just fine without them, but they add class flavor.

I see we’ve come full circle to everyone complaining about ability prune and class homogenification in WoD to everyonr begging for ability prunes and class homogenification now

Slice and Dice is a maintenance buff for the sake of having a maintenance buff (and especially weird for Outlaw which already has RtB.) It’s not a fun or interesting ability. There’s no impact when you use it. It’s just a button you press every x seconds.

The effect is good but the ability itself is a bother. I want a buff that makes me feel like a god when it’s active (wings), not one that makes me feel like crap when it isn’t (SnD.)

It doesn’t do a lot, at some point in a dungeon you’ll have it for 5 minutes (as combat).

so if Slice and dice made you do 30% more damage youd feel better pressing it

No, because it would still fall into the “makes me feel like crap when it isn’t active” category.

SnD is already a large DPS increase and many people still dislike it.

I don’t mind SnD but I also just enjoy refreshing things.

That’s why I love affliction. You’d hate affliction. It’s basically maintaining like 10 SnDs on the mob lol.

so then press it. How is it any different from pressing any other buttons in WoW. The duration is long enough that only having to press it every 30 seconds is very very reasonable. Believe me, I played legion sub when nightblade(rupture) lasted only 16 seconds at 5cp, meaning you’d have to refresh it approx every 15 seconds. Asking for just a passive give or take 20% increase is just lazy imo. If it’s the only maintenance buff in the game then keep it since it will be unique for rogues.

It really just boils down to. I have 5 cp → Is SND at 8 seconds left? yes → press snd, no-> press regular finisher. It’s not complicated or annoying unless you hate doing more damage.

All i see is that many people are complaining about having to sacrifice 1 finisher per min to refresh SND. OH the horrors.

Nah, stop homogenizing classes.

Rogues take a lot more than one button.
