I agree with the flail, but can you point to other appearances that are “unique” aside from those?
The bear form was really the most unique thing from the challenge. I mean, the hidden one from fury was more unique than the MT one, it was one handed axes instead of swords.
Nope, I don’t now but I did years and years ago. But with the rise of popularity of FF14 and evergreen content, that phrase has popped up on the forums like crazy over the last six months. I hadn’t even heard it before that haha.
I think the rogue and warlock sets are pretty wicked - (in 1980s wicked meant good) - anyway I digress - so I’ll definitely be trying that, but there’s also the mount if you do all 7 of the challenge modes I believe. This is all rather exciting!
I disagree on this, but I also think all of the mage tower appearances were hideous so I don’t really care either, other than the challenge involved I never saw the appeal of them.
Glad that the return of the mage tower has been officially confirmed.
Reintroducing those same appearances now would diminish those players’ accomplishment
No it wouldn’t. One, and this is coming from someone who did the Mage Tower back in legion, that “accomplishment” is just “I played Legion.” For things like those appearances, the accomplishment should always be “I was able to do this.” A great example of this is Deaths of Chromie. That’s still around and when I see people with those mogs, I don’t think “Oh they played Legion,” I think “Oh they did it!” because it’s a fun challenge.
And two,
For years, we’ve heard feedback from druid players who are frustrated that something so transformative is no longer available, and we agree. Therefore, in Legion Timewalking, Guardian druids who complete The Highlord’s Return challenge will also receive a new fel variant of the “werebear” form.
There is simply nothing else like it in the game.
The other mage tower appearances were also one of a kind. If you’re gonna do a new appearance for one spec, do it for everyone. Kinda sucks for everyone else if ONE spec gets more rewards for doing the same activity as others.
you don’t want to look like a traffic cone?!? gasp
They’ve still got that silver/gold/green T20 colour scheme chilling out in the game files completely unused too FYI. That one looks infinitely better it’s not even close
Not them but feral druid is a good one, the brewmaster weapons all had the fancy sheathe on shoulder thing. The thal’kiel head for demo is unique to legion appearances, havoc fire warglaives was pretty iconic as well. Holy paladin 2 handed hammer with book was also somewhat unique to legion.
Permanent tree form? If that’s what you’re implying I fully approve! Would be awesome to have a resto form since every other spec has a form. Could even make a glyph to retain the non tree form similar to the Stars glyph for boomies, sans the spectral look.
When the Mage Tower came out, it was fairly difficult…for a while. By the end of its run, most of the challenges were already diminished by higher tier and guides, and lots of people were able to get them. Meanwhile… how many people during Legion were able to get the mythic gear from the raids? This gear is now largely trivial to get (there are a couple of Legion boss fights that are still difficult on Mythic just because of mechanics) now.
So what about diminishing the value of the skins from Legion raids? What about the effort of the players who got the tier sets during Legion? Why are others now able to get those skins? What about the mythic skins from WoD? Are those not diminished now? Simply due to bad luck, those skins can take months to get, where the MT artifact skin challenges typically didn’t take that much time to learn.
The logic behind the reasoning for not re-releasing the original skins is horribly inconsistent. The real reason is to not bruise the fragile egos of a very small portion of players who are against the skins coming back, even though the logic behind it is a logical fallacy.
