Sometimes the dagger hurts more coming out than it did going in, doesn’t make it any less necessary.
Fine by me. Outdated content is outdated.
Gibs them BFA pathfinder too, imo.
I’m glad they’re killing two of four pathfinders. I have all of them and don’t think it’s fair others have to do them.
I really enjoyed that movie.
schadenfreude
i dont care at this point its completely irrelevant content go ahead give it away same thing with the allied races . do what ever we need to do to bring in and retain new players
The thing is if you look at flying as just a bonus and assume everyone is happy being grounded, than it is not tedious at all. If you just ran the bare minimal content you would have PF1 unlocked before PF2 became a thing.
Like doing your emissary each day, running some WQ’s for resources or gear, maybe some pet battles for bandages. Just do something and it will come naturally.
There are people out there who still don’t have PF1 and started when the expansion was released, but that is another story, because to do that you would be literally doing nothing to progress your character and I don’t even know what you would be doing.
But we don’t like being grounded, therefore we don’t like the wait and the “Oh cool, I can fly now” feeling that should come with it. If there was enough content to do on the ground, sure, but there isn’t and that is the problem. They put an emphasis on “GO DO YOUR CHORES!”, but than a stronger emphasis on grinding your end game gear now that your chores IS the end game grind and having flying just makes that so much better.
I think everybody would be OK with removing Pathfinder entirely, except for a couple of guys who work at Blizzard.
As someone with all of the pathfinders…
I agree with removing it for old content.
The reward is getting to use while it is current.
Forcing new people to… shudder grind old content just to fly in old content is not consumer friendly in any way.
Who actually wants to grind content in WoD? I didn’t want to even when it was relevant.
I have pathfinder for WoD, Legion and BFA. It doesn’t bother me one bit. I have been able to fly in those expansions when others could not. The achievements will still be in place for those that want the mount from WoD and the faster mount speed in Legion.
Well, it’s not “slap in the face” but close enough…
Nope, why should I care? I got it when it was current and got to enjoy it during those times. It’s a good thing for new players.
There are few guarantees with this game, but I think I can say with fairly reasonable certainty that, prior to WoD, nobody said “Jeez I wish we had to do a whole bunch of grinding to be able to fly so that I could feel like I achieved something”.
I have all pathfinders. I’m glad they’re doing this. I hate pathfinder and don’t feel others should have to suffer through it in old content just because I did.
You do realize it won’t be free if they have to get expert riding.
I’m glad people don’t have to go through what I did to unlock flying in those zones. I’m glad that they’re setting a precedent of making flying purchasable once the expansion is over, so that returning players aren’t at a serious leveling disadvantage.
We still get things like bonus movement speed and mount rewards from Pathfinder, and we probably won’t have to purchase these on our alts to fly since we’ve already earned them.
Honestly, why does it matter to you at all that people can now fly in old content?
Well the obvious response to this is you should not do the next pathfinder and just wait till they give it away post Shadowlands. That way you won’t be tricked into speeding your time on something they will do away with later. I’m almost positive you will see the value of having iit earlier.
I don’t see why anyone would worry about something they probably haven’t given much thought about since they earned them. It’s just weird to even think newer players should slogged through something that isn’t even relevant any longer. I have both and so what if new players get it. Why would I care? I have old raid sets. Given them away. I’m the only one that even looks at my mogs. So what does it matter to me (they on the ugly side aways).
You got it years in advance, how does it negate your effort. You got to fly for years
I barely even felt that “something”, i just played the game and with time i got it.
