After squish many new players will not even know of wod to be awed by the players greatness. Wod what?
Or older players who can’t fly there.
Pick an expac to do 1 to 50 in player.

And thus wod and bfa will bow out of top run zones lol. Legion pathfinder wasn’t too bad…I didn’t hate getting that tbh.
As someone who came back to WoD late and actually did Get WoD Pathfinder anyway, I say GO BLIZZARD! Seriously, I understand why they don’t want to just hand it out for free when the expansion is new, but when they are years old… Just let new players fly. Notice it doesn’t mention Battle for Azeroth, so I am sure that Pathfinder will still be required for BfA areas.
TL;DR No, this change is great, and I did the WoD grind a few months before the expansion ended.
Oh, good point. I Have the Charger Feat of Strength, I finished the quest back in early Burning Crusade… the quest that took WEEKS and multiple dungeons and over twice the amount of gold that a normal mount cost… then in Cataclysm I think it was they just handed that mount free to paladins that didn’t earn it… Well, Blizzard I now demand a refund of my 100g!
i am all for it, especially if it triggers people who think that achieving something grindy in a video game is somehow meaningful

I think it’s a good change. I don’t want new players to have to suffer through all that tedious crap like I did.
LOL. I think it is amazing. I never worked for PF in wod or legion. I find it comical that we get it now, though expected. Just like how flying is free in MOP or earlier. It is not fair to punish new players.

I’m glad it’s being handed out. Wish they would hand out the BFA one as well. I’m just glad the bonus rep buff happened or I never would have gotten the BFA one.

felt rewarding for me too, during 7.2 when it mattered
but I cannot be assed to do wod pf, and I avoid the whole place like the plague cause I’d have to ride on the ground the whole time

ok stop… if you want to waste your life away on GRINDING MINDLESS REP JUST TO FLY GO FOR IT. i hate things being locked behind pathfinder. This stupidity needs to be removed from the game. It should be an option simple. If you want to do it great have at it… those that dont we can pay 120000 gold and be done with that. We can deal with not getting the pathfinder and some special mount for doing it. you can have your stupid sense of achievement and i can enjoy the beauty of the world flying around. which btw i didn’t get to do because of your need for a sense of accomplishment. Please Please this should be gone from the game completely everyone should be able to enjoy “FLYING” its one of the most important achievements of human history and we dont get to do it in real life… and now we dont get to do it in our fantasy world either. Cause i have to have grind rep to take to the skies on my already existing flying mount??? come on!!
You raid progress is negated every new patch and you’re fine with that. We did these pathfinders at/during content. The removal now is ok.
I’ve never agreed with how Pathfinder’s been done. Want me to see the story? Cool. I’ll do that. But I shouldn’t have to grind rep just so you can extend the time on the ground. I did the story and saw the prettiful scenery. Let me fly. Don’t make me wait till you feel like giving it to us.
Pathfinder Part 1 should be do the story and then you can fly in the launch zones. Part 2 should the same for whatever new area we go to; do the story, then you can fly.
As for the actual question, I’m cool with other people getting it. It’s a solid QoL change for people. I’m not so insecure that my only sense of worth is if I have the ability to fly in an old zone and someone else doesn’t.

I had the luxury of taking advantage of flying all this time.
With the upcoming changes to scaling, choice of leveling zone and ease of leveling, it makes sense to remove those pathfinder requirements for flying.
Didn’t play WoD but have Legion and BFA pathfinder. Glad they’re removing them from at least 2 xpacks. Needs to go permanently.

You know what? A few weeks ago I would have been with you and others however now? Op is right this is a bad move on the part of Blizzard. People should be putting work into it not going up to someone and paying for it.

I have both, I’m super happy they’re giving it for free in Shadowlands. It’ll make older content more accessible to many.
