People will go hard for a week or two, max out there gear, then have nothing to do and feel burnt out.
Raiding have lock outs for a reason. A valor cap is like a lockout for M+ spam/gearing so you can’t just zoom zoom it.
Almost everyone I knew who did season 4 of Shadowlands played hard for maybe 3 weeks - maxed out their gear and quit logging in.
If you slow down raiding and stuff so people keep logging in, why are you just releasing a way for people to ignore raiding and max out in a short time?
Will also falsely inflate raid #'s because H Raz will be so much easier if people max out in M+ gear, yet raiders who ONLY raid, will continue to fight a boss over tuned for just H raid loot.
Oh… Hey… I’m sorry that you’re upset that people who play this game and don’t have a thousand friend or time to do raid will now be able to do just a few Mythic + after work everyday to max out their gear and feel as strong as you.
Hello, I see you posted a thread about valor. Haha, people were quitting less than a month into the expansion! I doubt people would be quitting over valor being uncapped, they are quitting because they are bored as all heck, haha!
If you ONLY raid and don’t do mythic+ and are upset that people will kill Razageth before you, I suggest you look at yourself as being the problem. Simply doing a single +20 every week will net you a piece of 421 loot, which will enable you to do the raid fights more easily.
I’m sorry that you feel entitled to things that you’re putting no effort into.
So I actually see where you’re coming from, even though most M+ players will likely hate your post.
I’m going to make it simple (just my opinion, of course.)
No valor cap = you get everything you need very soon and burn out.
Current valor cap = not even 2 upgrades in a week IIRC.
I’d prefer no cap over what we currently have, but I think it’d be better to simply increase it to 1,500 or 2,000. 1,500 would simply mean we retain what we get at the start of a season, and that’s the most sensical to me.
I understand Blizzard doesn’t want people capping out too quickly, but then there’s also this artificial gate feeling where it feels our progress is not being limited, but outright controlled. When you compare it to raid gear it may seem a bit more fair, but M+ isn’t raiding, and I think it would be good to work with the positives of that difference rather than stunt them.
Again, just my opinion.
Edit: did not realize that 2 days prior to this post they already planned to remove cap. I should read stickies. (Also I guess I can edit posts without sub still.)
So true this game is full of control freaks. This is why it’s in such a state. They want to control what gear others have and what content they can participate in.
Nah I’m glad they are removing artificial timegating like this. Now if only they added a vendor that let us buy certain in demand trinkets or pieces of gear from dungeons (at the lowest ilvl so we still had to upgrade them and still grind valor) I’d say it would be a total win.
I mean like the justice vendors on Classic, how you can earn currency through daily/weekly quests to buy pieces of gear. Add in a weekly quest to do 8 M+ or so and then when its done you get enough currency to buy one item. You can only ever have enough to buy one item, and you can get more from either the weekly or through your vault if you dont like what you see. EZ PZ.
Isn’t this the same argument people make about daily WQ, it will cause people to burn themselves out quicker. Guess that means we can make them daily again since Blizz is ok with players burning themselves out.
