Removing pets from MM goes against Blizz’s stated goal of keeping the RPG in MMORPG

Thank our fluffy kittens, that’s a damn good change. NO MORE POOP OWL.

Now kill the eagle, and I’m happy.

That has been a thing or years since they added lone wolf.
Removing player choice is being celebrated and thats very weird to me

I honestly think this could be alleviated if blizz would stop shoving any non-magical ranged archetype into the hunter banner. If we had another physical ranged dps who uses guns, bows and crossbows and wasn’t built on being a pet class from the start nobody would care and honestly the need for a “petless” but not really hunter spec would not be there.

It’s frankly amazing that, in twenty years blizzard has never attempted to add another ranged class that isnt just a caster, hunters have had a monopoly on guns, bows, and crossbows for 20 years blizzard, its time to add another.

It’s been long since time honestly, and I feel it would allow them to focus on what makes hunters hunters, reinforce why many people picked the class to begin with. Which for me was not to be a lone sniper it was to hit hard with a ranged weapon and have a pet, which BM does not provide and survival…well half of that is off the table so I guess my hunter will be shelved after playing it since vanilla lol

Then Y have a siully magic bird… its worse than a pet…

I mean, Hunters already have Murder of Crows, so the use of “birds” in random moments is not unheard of. I’m excited to try the spec and see the changes. A lot of people over react when change happens. I remember all the outrage when Combat rogue was leaving and they were getting Outlaw. People were pissed, and then Outlaw became the #1 Rogue spec for a very hot minute. So unlike the chronic complainers around here, I am feeling like this will be Outlaw level epic for Hunters.

People do still complain about this, and Outlaw is still in a weird state, when it comes to thematics vs mechanics.

I personally still absolutely hate the mandatory “YARR MATEY” theme of outlaw to the point I refuse to use the spec outright, I’ll just run assassin, which I decidedly do not enjoy (and why I generally just dont use rogues)

This is not a baseline ability, and it isn’t a MM talent either… so your info right out of the gate is incorrect.

Tbh surv should have been made a dual wield ranged class instead of melee

:-1:t5::-1:t5: Well what if you don’t want it to be a “eagle”?? Horrible idea. This sucks :100:, are you going to open up SV weapon choices? Sorry I don’t like BM spec for those of you saying “Play BM instead…” and being limited to 2 handed weapons in SV was a dumb and lazy idea when our class is coded to use so many more. MM was the last spec for me to enjoy playing a hunter. :rage::rage::rage: Now I have to retire my Vanilla character because of this weirdo decision?! I’m mad ASF right now for real :rage::rage::rage:

What I want is irrelevant. It’s part of being a gamer. I play the game as it exists, or I move on. I have no pre-conceived notions, I know things can change at any moment, and am also hyper aware that I own nothing on my account. Everything from my TBC gear up through my TWW mog all belongs to Blizz and they have the right to do as they please. It’s the main reason I have been making my way into Conquest of Azeroth to play a Gnome Druid, Tinker, and Necromancer. It is Vanilla/TBC WoW with Cata graphics, and 21 customizable playstyles cause “Classes” don’t exist. My sub for WoW runs through this summer, so I will play til then.

Either a new class or a 4th spec for hunter at this point
or both. Hunter is trying to do way too many fantasys at once

I’m not getting optimal damage on my mm hunter this xpac, and I’ve tried multiple loadouts, lone wolf, sentinel, dark ranger, etc. It just doesnt feel good right now to play. (And yes it’s probably a ‘me’ problem, I’ve seen some crazy mm damage.)

I hope this change fixes the spec, even if I lost my pet. I’m probably just going to start another hunter so this one can be BM and the other mm.

No harm letting the devs know what you want though.

I don’t really see how pets are core to the archetype. Yes they’ve been a part of the hunter class from the beginning, largely for logistical reasons given the ranged deadzone, but I don’t see why one spec can’t be modified to be an archer/gunner without a pet in the modern game that is designed very differently from the classic constraints.

If anything, it gives more RP opportunities as there was no niche for just a straight archer. Lots of people like archer/ranged archetypes that don’t care about pets. For many people something like Legolas is the archer fantasy, and he’s not walking around with a giant cat, he’s just an archer/fighter.

they don’t want my opinion trust me. Otherwise 12.0 would not exist and we would do away with the void in 11.2 so that we could then move onto the last Titan and it would be an almost gnome centric expansion where we introduced the tinker class to all four of the small races.

The expansion that kills WOW harder than Shadowlands did, lmao
