Sorta wrong, since up to 12 you get more crests per completion.
Still takes 5 dungeons from ranges of 10 and up to cap the weekly amount though

That is fair, I just think people have super weird hang ups with gear. It feels a lot like early raiders who felt it was some special thing.
Its just numbers after a while. Outside of maybe a BiS weapon or special effect ring it all blurs together after a while and you just see it for what it is. A tool to get into harder content.
And limited to the drops from that Boss.
Also that’s 4 piece for 20 with no vault unlock. For the same amount of people in m+, that’s 8 pieces after dungeon, and a vault unlock for all of them on that solo dungeon.
I agree, and it’s a HUGE issue. A few small changes I think would help are:
Make the 0.1% title apply per-spec, not across all specs. That way you’d see people pushing up pres or brew or other non-meta specs.
Discard the crests. +2s drop 636, +3s 639, etc… (or whatever the scaling/numbers blizz thinks is appropriate). That way even up into the high keys there’s still reason to finish and push.
An automatic group finder. That way you can queue, and go off and do world quests/farm/fish/whatever without playing the LFG game for hours on end.
Just get rid of gear at that point.

Then delves should have timers, key stones, affixes, and give no rewards at 11.
Then put in heroic dungeons.
No one gets left out.
Gear is not only a reward but also a way to soft nerf a later boss that you’d otherwise be unable to defeat. Yes, there are nerfs coming overtime, and the occasional mechanics that gives you power over time, but if these were the only way to progress, people would yell to timegating. And they already are.
If it had been the case from the beginning sure, but that ship has sailed 20 years ago.

Yeah, hence the sorta wrong. For someone keeping up with the cap and doing 8 dungeons a week for vault, that’s inconsequential.
Honestly I did think it dropped Mythic-level loot! No gas lighting at all… I am a dedicated lover of running dungeons - even to the point of punishment - but this season seems odd because so many are abandoning dungeons…

People leave 12s that won’t time because the reward for a 12 is io and you won’t get any if you go over time. Farm gear in 10s. 12+ is for score only unless you list it otherwise in group finder
