Removing myself from another person's character friends

I’m concerned someone I’ve had a falling out with may be tracking me by listing my main as a character friend, and I’m querying possible ways to remove myself from their friends list.

I’ve read that if I were to buy a realm change or a faction change, it would update that list, forcibly removing me from their friends list. My question is, if I were to transfer the character in question back to their realm with a changed name, would that update remain in effect, or would I be re-added to that person’s friends list?

I was curious so I did a little digging.

I thought putting someone on ignore would solve this problem, but apparently not:

Thanks for checking, I appreciate it.

I saw that one too, which is why I’m asking; I’m not happy about the potential expense, but if I have to cop it, I have to cop it.

I like my server, though, so I’m not keen to transfer away permanently. I’m hoping that buying two transfers (away and back again) will get me off their friends list and get me some anonymity away from them.

Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about it. Just keep them on ignore, do not engage, and report if they harass you.

Just going to add this.

There are 3rd party sites where it is possible to find someone based off achievements, etc.

While this will take you off their friends list, it’s not a guarantee they won’t be able to find you again if they are determined enough.

Be careful. If it’s a full realm, I’m not sure if you’d be able to transfer back. You might be better off doing the double faction change. I wish there were a better way to get your name off someone else’s stalker/friends list than spending $60.

On another note, I see that they’ve added in discounted pricing for multiple character services. I remember people requesting that for quite a long time. Good on Blizz to accommodate. (I still think name changes should be buyable with gold, but that’ll go into the in-game suggestion box tonight.)
