Removing bonus rolls is a good thing

Extra chances at loot are bad? Please explain your position.

No. Convince me.

ALl my toons have literally tens of thousands of resources so i just buy seals with those

That doesnt mean anything. Its still a resource cost that is not worth its turnout a majority of the time.

Most likely people had a hard time finding where the bonus rolls was purchased at…so they decided to remove it

Except they were RNG. Bad luck protection only works efficiently at a certain point.

I’m torn on this subject and I currently feel neutral towards it

I don’t feel strongly in either half

Well extra shots at a drop are good. They save the time of having to rerun a dungeon for specific item and time is money according to our goblin friends.

So bonus rolls save time and money.

The resources don’t do anything other than gather dust

What was the point of keeping them, even if they gave you a 10% chance at loot it’s better than the stuff just sitting there

I’ve already said: thats more an issue of the war resource/mission table system in BFA than the bonus rolll system. Mission tables were useless in BFA, meaning war resources were basically not being used other than bonus rolls and the turn in for Warfronts.

We know that both gold/marks arent good trade-offs for bonus rolls, so why should an overabundance of a bad system justify another bad system?

Ah yes, the whole ‘bad luck protection’ thing, which gave minor increases to the chance to get loot every time you failed. Meaning you could still go weeks without a piece of bonus roll loot before RNG finally gave you something, and then you still had to deal with the reality that, because bosses have multiple items for your class/spec on their loot tables, that when your bad luck protection finally kicked in, there was a fairly high chance that you got the wrong item.

Okay here’s a good example. High Tinker Mekkatorque from the Battle of Dazar’alor raid. You’re a warlock, so, that boss only has two items you can use. The High Tinker’s Cape and the Giga-Charged Shoulderpads. So let’s say you have a better cape, but you really want those shoulders. If you bonus roll, even if you get loot, you’ve got a 50% chance of getting the cape, which is useless to you.

It gets even worse if say, you’re a hunter, because at that point the number of items on the loot table jumps from 2 to 4, so now if you’re after a specific piece, say, the rifle that drops from the boss, you’ve only got a 25% chance to loot that item if you get loot on the bonus roll. There’s a 75% chance that you get something you don’t need.

Uh… Dude.

The great vault does not replace Bonus rolls. For one : we already had the weekly chest from Mythic+. For two : the Great Vault doesn’t allow you to target a specific bosses’ loot table.

You need a full 10 boss clear of Castle Nathria to get the 3rd choice. And it’s just that : a choice. You only can get 1 item from the Vault.

The vault is no way a replacement for Bonus rolls.

Then what’s the issue?

I’ve also got stacks of marks of honour and all you do with them is buy tmogs

How can you say they’re not worth the resources and at the same time say the resources they cost weren’t useful for anything else aside from buying rerolls?

If you’re job to convince us why.

You would make a bad lawyer.

That’s what I was going to say.

Because getting vendor gold and basic WQ azerite from something you buy for:

2000 (4000) gold
250 (500) war resources
10 MoH

Is a terrible rate of trade regardless if there is a chance to get loot.

It will make it that we don’t over power content in a really short amount of time so we don’t just over gear content and skip large portions of the game

It should help spread out where people are trying to find groups and may even make normal raiding something people actively do the whole way through a patch

That’s at least the silver lining in it

What exactly else are you using these resources for though?

Even if it’s just converting marks of honour into AP or gold that’s more useful than what they were doing before hand which was nothing

And on the odd chance you get a drop from it is extremely decent

I would trade 90 marks of honour for 460 piece that any day

Getting that extra Azshvane’s Razor Coral or that extra Vita-Charged Titanshard is priceless my dude.

I’d pay 3000000 war ressources any day.

Currently, if I clear Mythic Nylotha and bonus roll the bosses I want, Raden/ Nzoth I have control of where I spend my roll and know my chances.

You think clearing those same bosses, and having the chest randomly select 3 pieces from the 35 in the entire raid loot pool is better odds at getting what I want? LoL.

Not even considering how it fully replaces the loot from M+ as well…
