Remove world buffs in raid

Please remove world buffs in raids.

  • It always feels bad to lose your buffs in raid and it’s a chore collecting them

  • DMF you can only get every other week and on an internal cooldown that is paused when it’s booned, and when near the enemy city it’s time consuming and often difficult to get during peak hours

  • the ridiculous power of the current world buffs screws with the difficulty of content

  • It creates social friction in guilds and pugs (some expect everyone to have WBs, others can’t be bothered)

  • it creates more social friction when someone is blamed for losing everyone’s WBs (eg the guy that positions wrong on electrocutioner or doesn’t run out of the middle before thermaplug)

  • if you like to parse they are mandatory

  • there are already enough “power boosts” in groups/raids for that dopamine release (class buffs/debuffs, consumables). The game doesn’t need more.

World buffs are an outdated concept that have led to so much frustration and griefing behaviour that the chronoboon had to be added to the game. Let’s make SoD more enjoyable by removing WBs from raids entirely.

thanks for listening to my TED talk

Bummer man

This is season of discovery, not season of mastery

Season of mastery was last year. It was a lot of fun. You really should have been there

Yeah, I don’t know why worldbuffs are enabled during the raids in general.

They weren’t used this way during real classic, not until WOTLK when guilds were artificially blocked from content due to raid bosses not spawning/resetting correctly.

I would go further to say disabled consumables during raid. If you can’t do the raid content without them, you really should be looking at your gear/strategy to improve. This would also remove a big chunk of gold demand from raid logging casual players (the ones who RMT the most, they want to perform well so they need consumables to get that extra dmg, but don’t want to put the time into farming gold, so they buy it)

Fun for who?

I am fine with world buffs when they are easy to get.

Spending 30 seconds in Org and using 20s isn’t a huge commitment every 3 days.

However when gathering the buffs starts taking longer than the raid(like it does at 60?) no thanks.

I agree … disable world buffs in raids

If you don’t like world buffs, don’t get them

If you don’t want to play with people who like world buffs, don’t. Or vice versa.

They aren’t mandatory for the content, its tuned to be done without them

So you want them to stay to have easier content?

The power that world buffs give should come from gear + consumables. When you lock up BIS in a raid tier while fully consumed, it should feel like a full stack of world buffs.

For me. You should have been there. It was just as much fun as this.

Don’t ask me what my favorite wow experience is.

I would never be able to choose.

It’s like choosing between a pepperoni or anchovy pizza. Sometimes I feel like some umami. Sometimes I feel something comforting from my past.

If Season of Mastery and Season of Discovery were pizza I would compare them to Hawaiian pizza. One has the jalapeño though. It’s a bit spicy.

Yes

I like to blast through content. Just don’t die to the one mechanic and its free

you dont need WBs to complete the raid.

They should remove WBs, and everyone saying you dont need them is being disingenuous.

I think a way that would he way way way less annoying would being able to go around the world collecting items that turn into a NPC in town that gives out all the world buffs.

That way you dont have to have a pre-set up summon train to get songflower and the dire maul buffs etc and hyper min/max the timer before booning.

Collect it all in advance with items you turn into a NPC, all your timers are synced and no summon train around the world required.

I never played sweat lord classic, only the original classic when people didn’t world buff… and man… reading your description of collecting world buffs… that just sounds idiotic and a waste of time.

I second this. The content is already easy enough and parsing is about the only challenge we can make for ourselves. Would be more fun to do this without having to collect and rely on a very overpowered buff that has some very bizarre time gating mechanics attached to it.

Its not even hard to collect these buffs just sit in orgrimmar for a couple minutes and you’ll get one. The other is just talking to some npc

people are just whining they cant raid log like tbc/wottle k

Oh and there’s chronoboon now so the complaints of era arent even relevant anymore

my first 3 clears of gnomer are without WBs… and consumes.

You do not need them to do the content. it isn’t hard.

IF  YOU  DON’T  WANT  WBs  DON’T  GET  THEM

PS: the reason you aren’t getting 99s isn’t WBs, its because you aren’t as good as you think

they are kinda required for parsing…

but that’s what parsing is. Doing as good as possible with the stuff available in game.

I am not upset my parses arent high if I don’t get every buff in game and don’t try my hardest.

Right click on the buff.
