If anything, our damage profile now is more like that of an afflock than it ever was when we used shadow orbs.
Hard disagree. Shadowâs damage pattern is pretty much unique in that it is almost entirely sustained, following a gruelling period of low value ramp up.
Affliction, while you intuitively would expect to ramp up because of its dot nature, the specâs multiple cooldowns and resource dump focused mechanics over the past 10 years have made its up front damage remarkably high, and while it held decent sustain, it did that mostly though being one of the few consistent multi dotters.
Shadow and afflictionâs damage patterns across legion and BFA literally could not be more different.
Itâs not stubbornness. Itâs that someoneâs reputation is on the line. There was a lot of capital burnt to force these changes through. Anyone who doesnât believe that does not understand how the business works. The problem here is that unlike Xelnathâs changes and updates to the Warlock Class, which were for the most part appreciated and beloved; this developerâs work has been almost universally reviled and rejected by the playerbase.
I do empathize with them, but thatâs where it looks like weâre at. Nowâs the time for them to suck it up and fix what they messed up in Legion. Cool experiment, but it failed. Or they can subject their customers to 2 years more of this development malpractice, pretend there is no issue and reap the consequences.
If nothing is done, I suspect at this time in two years players tempers, and tolerance for Blizzard as a whole; will make the climate of the forums today look like Alaskan Winter by comparison.
