Mythic raid and pvp gear above 2200 rating should be the best gear and no gear from anything els should be able to even come close in ilvl.
As a now filthy casual and once progression raider… I kind of agree.
I think they should change it, though. Not remove it.
Warforge should be adding tertiary stats and gem sockets.
Titanforge should be five additional ilevels. That’s it.

Why?
Why should we be able to do a world quest or a Warfront, no raiding, and have something forge that high? We don’t need it if we don’t raid.
It belittles the effort and reward put into high end raiding. Just like it belittled legendaries when we could craft them and get them from a freaking Blingtron.

I agree mostly, although I don’t agree with sockets.
Sockets being one of the most powerful forms of upgrades (of which a lot of people don’t appreciate) is really bad for the system. In my opinion they should be set to specific items, whether it’s something that is budgeted for as it used to be (but could be on different pieces) or whether it is something that is always available on rings/neck for example and simply offers that customisable playstyle it entails.
As to everything else, yep tertiary stats for me should be the main part of upgrading with the ability to also gain 5-10 ilvls max from TF.
You get the surprise, you get the excitement but it doesn’t affect the game on a systematic level it’s just what it’s meant to be…a bonus…

I do agree with this. I miss sockets the way we used to have them in BC. I’d love that option back. It gave us a chance to customize better.
WQ warriors will say it doesn’t hurt. Anyone who does meaningful content will say otherwise. This is the LFR debate all over again. The farmville crowd will always win because they cry louder.

If they are so insistent on warforged/titanforged make them +5/+10 respectivily.
Sockets should NOT be random like they are, its awful for JC.

Or because they vastly outnumber the people who raid. As a raider (who is on break till 8.2) it doesnt affect me at all… Its not very common to actually get a decent titanforge… Makes that good titanforge that much better.
