Remove the weekly carrot

Get rid of it, it was good for raids but the weekly box and even story being gated behind weekly reset is just abysmal game design.

When exactly would you have it then?

Let proper gear drop from content or bought from badges and have set bonus, tier and or trinkets locked or gated behind X or Y things.

So, it’s all about what you want? Methinks your request would be better if it was put in game under the suggestion tab, which is entered via the ? that’s on your actionbar. this way the request gets to the developers to implement, or not implement.

Yup! thats Gd for ya!

What would you have to replace it?

No valor caps, no raid lockouts, no restrictions on gear trading etc.? So people can neckbeard their way to BiS within a week of the new patch coming out?

What kind of subscription based game would allow that?

You enjoy watching a cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger followed up by cliffhanger?

1 chapter a week or months.

Your issue is with the weekly gating of main story quests. Why does this involve raid lock outs? If you don’t like the gating, then just wait for all the chapters to be out, THEN resub and do them all in one go.

Clearly you guys like the opposite so I’ll suggest that for you instead

Thank the lord you are not in charge of this game. The game would shut down after a month. You obviously have 0 clue what it takes to keep people playing an mmo and you seem to think money and time grow on trees that companies can just pump out non stop content daily in a matter of minutes.

in terms of game play, this probably the most unpopular opinion of the expansion
i mean OP has a point

I think that most casual players appreciate having rewards frontloaded as it lets you maintain without playing very much.

Can’t we replace it with carrot cake instead?

That’s exactly what they want, and they’ll come here to lament about how’s there’s nothing to do, and there needs to be more content to quickly consume.

I quite enjoy the weekly story format. If they’d allow my alts to skip it after I’ve done it on my main then it’d be even better. They need to lean into it more, not less, from a narrative perspective. Content in a lump sum is just going to be chewed through in no time at all and see you all back here complaining there’s nothing to do.

So what? You want apiw down everyone’s levling process because you yourself like to lvl slow?
There’s not a single good idea in anything you said.
And literally everyone here thinks that as well.
Just because you like playing a game a certain way, doesn’t mean everyone does.
Play the game you want.
And we will play it how we want.

:joy: rage cut and paste frenzy!!

I really like the vault, even when it’s a let down. It’s a nice way to cushion bad RNG so that you at least get something.

Continuing the discussion from Remove the weekly carrot:

How can you state this from reading the comments here? Please reread to see that not everyone agrees.

These never bothered me.

In fact, these were brought into focus back when I leveled my first alt in SL and we got that string of “go to torghast” “come back” “go back to torghast” “come back” “more torghast”.

Done weekly, those were fine. But back to back to back, they were kind of awful. Same with legion and opening up the broken isles. That quest chain is kind of long and tedious, but spread out over a few weeks – it works.

It’s fair to blame the writing etc., but writing and pacing are tied together.
