Well no, I am just referring to the part that applies to NA support staff, and still does not change anything of what I said, sure it would be abused, massively? I highly doubt it as it has not been to the degree people are taking it to here in all the years it has been in effect.
actually the issue wouldn’t be policing, as that can be accomplished without a squelch, it would rather be players passing sentence.
KInd of knee deep in sovcit videos atm and I have heard tons of legal whatnots, lol.
I heard you did, just yesterday in fact, eat a Strawberry Ice cream Cone and then proceeded to claim to everyone it was Chocolate , when you attended the annual Chocolate lovers conference of Upper Central Montana.
Not exactly sure what you’re saying, but I agree if you’re saying a squelch is unnecessary. An ignore serves the exact same person for each individual. So the means to stop hearing what you don’t want to is readily available, and won’t be accompanied by an easily abusable system.
I would say if Blizz wants to implement an automated system, then have certain trigger words that are identified if you use them in certain public channels. There should be an immediate warning to a player who uses a word on that list. Upon a second use (within a certain time frame), then incorporate an auto-squelch. The same could be done with spamming the same thing multiple times. That is how you automate a system.
oh just playing semantics, the auto squelch is the sentence, so that wouldn’t be something a police officer would do, sorry like I said , knee deep in sovcit videos, lol.
That sounds like a reasonable suggestion, sad really we have both the people who are offended by everything and the people just live to offend and think it is their right and then everyone else, lol, the happy medium will probably never happen.
and the people who think that everyone needs to hear whatever comes out of their mouth at all times with no regard to anything, I’d say that type is way more pathetic than the others honestly.
The best compromise I can think of for the people that are worried that the right-click report system will be abused is one I’ve been suggesting for months.
Apply the auto-squelch only to reports made with a new “Report Illegal services” button. Make detecting abuse of the report system blatantly obvious and harshly punish those that aren’t using the report for its intended purpose.
Keep the report spam and language options in but remove the auto-squelch function from those reports and have a GM enforced silenced be the only punishment able to be applied from that particular kind of report.
If someone is waiting for a world boss and they get squelched because they said “Nice day huh?”, then the players that reported him using the “Report Illegal services” button could be hit with 30 day bans for obviously abusing the report system. How often do you think 10 or so players are going to take a 30 day ban for temporarily squelching a player?
Your best bet is to compromise with Blizzard, like what happened with the loot trading system. You’re probably not going to convince them to remove something that was put in the game in 2007 to combat Gold Seller spam.
If you have some info that proves that Blizzard paying off employees in Ireland is a blow to their entire CS operations worldwide, I’d like to see it please.
