this will truly destroy the game for me. you won’t be able to do anything, because the system is automated and you’ll get banned for mass reports. an example of this is if you tagged a mob that a devilsaur mafia member is farming out, they will all report you and you’ll get silenced. WE Asked for no changes, and what happened? we got sprinles. this will be a domino effect, which will make the game even worse

If evidence is there for a good reason to be banned, you’ll be banned. I’m sure you won’t get banned for camping a mob lol.

No it wont.

Cite ONE time where a player was wrongfully banned as a result of fraudulent reporting and faulty automation. The only people who are worried about right-click report are jerks craving the haven for gross bigotry that the game was before the report function.

Right click report is good and necessary. The auto-squelch, however, will be abused and shouldn’t be in Classic.

Like Mogar said, right click report is a good thing to have but the auto-squelch feature is the problem.

A good example is actually Overwatch: Just ask anybody who likes to main a character like Bastion that’s considered a “troll pick” by the community.

They get mass reported and often get hit by the automated system for the horrible crime of playing the character they wanted to play.

That’s not entirely accurate, many who don’t want RCR recognize that there’s plenty of players who can be overly sensitive and petty, and instead of /ignoring, they prefer to be punitive, as opposed to being patient and just letting a GM resolve the issue.

I’m not going to say his name, but a few nights ago there was a guy in a thread who’s every post was, ‘You’re insulting me. Reported!’ He said it like 10 times.
That type of person is why auto-squelch is such a bad idea. And then of course there’s the trolls on top of that.

No? I never supported RCR and a number of times have had posts removed by people saying “Its not going to destroy anything” among other topics.

If its the same thread I’m thinking off, a number of my responses were removed.

Sorry to hear that and it is a perfect example of what we warned about. We’ve also gotten plenty of their posts removed and seen their noticible absence for a while. They asked for mob rule and they got it. Can’t beat 'em, join 'em and sabotage from within. :grin:

The RCR functionality isnt the real problem with that system. Its a great tool for gathering evidence of chat abuse / spam. The real problem is the automated punishment system.

I would agree with this. However, part of the way to afford classic (because Blizzard doesn’t think we’ll all sub) is reduced GM input.

I don’t know. He wasn’t directing them at me since I wasn’t even posting. I was just watching the thread. But he said it to like 4 or 5 different people over and over again. Speaking as an ex-forum mod I can tell you what a colossal waste of time that is for the mods. There’s a reason there’s penalties to filing false reports.

In any event, when it comes to auto-squelch in a Vanilla environment you’ll have those SJW over-sensitive kids who are actively seeking to be offended reporting on anything and everything, you’ll have trolls just messing with people doing the same, and people trying to take advantage of the system by taking away other players’ ability to communicate. It really is a recipe for disaster.

And they are the problem. If blizzard continues to coddle them then vanilla will epic fail. Sometimes scorched Earth tactics are the only way to get the attention of the establishment though. :sunglasses:
