Remove shadowmeld

I know how to prevent it and deny it, this is good enough for me.

Flare? Im glad flare is getting buffed in season 2.

With a big flare size I can prevent even more elves per square inch from melding.

See, you’re smart and not a dingus weakling pleading for nerfs.

Don’t let the elves take your trees! Slay them all!

make it unusable in combat, period

You could say that about all the people who picked Orc back before their racial was nerfed

Right? It can still be used as a afk anywhere kinda stealth.

Nerfed in 2009, you’re more than a decade late.

It’s like hoomy rogues crying about perception being removed entirely because it was breaking arena; stop your nonsense.

Meld breaks on damage, you know exactly where they are because they can’t move and the only 2 classes that can make a better use of it already have stealth and eleventy thousand ways to make you work.

Maybe it’s time to learn to pew pew instead of QQ.

It was nerfed in 10.1 specifically for PvP.:

  • Developers’ note: In conjunction with the crowd control changes we are making that are noted below, we are adjusting the value of Hardiness to put the ability’s power level more in line with other racial abilities in PvP scenarios, while still being able to feel the impact of the racial.
  • Hardiness (Orc Racial) stun reduction has been reduced by 50% in PvP combat.

Yeah that’s how it works, never said it didn’t so not sure why you went on this rant

Given how you seem real defensive for someone else when all I was alluding to is that someone picking a race because they “did research on their character” means they shouldn’t have something on that character nerfed is not how to balance a game.

I’m not gonna sit here and say it’s OP or not, but I will say that there’s probably more of a reason that NE is by far the most popular race in higher level PvP currently, by a large margin as well.

Again you’re way late to the game, it was nerfed in 2007 down from 25% stun resits chance down to 15.

It was nerfed again in 2009 from resist to % duration reduced.

Will of the forsaken is the same story, but guessing you didn’t know that either. I assure you I know all the changes and nerfs and no one likes them.

Most of the nerfs were not needed, neither is this one.

All those previous nerfs are irrelevant because it wasn’t about how it was nerfed, it’s just it being nerfed in general and players saying it’s unfair because they “did research” and then chose to play it. I said it was nerfed in 10.1 because it was and because your original post implies it was last nerfed in 2009.

Either way the point is that saying something shouldn’t be nerfed simply because the person made a decision to play a character and it’s “unfair to them” is a wild statement to make in general.

Thinking you’re missing the point. Its a racials that is the least obnoxious.

Want a real leg to stand on in respect to PvP balance?

Eliminate all racials fully, eliminate leeway from the game and ensure all character hit box and hurt boxes are fully identical.

This makes character model selection 100% pure cosmetic as it always should have been.

It is a racial vanish, complete BS, way too OP as a racial, on top of that they can already shadowmeld and sit base, as any class, why is NE so OP

Nerf Shadowmeld.

Above 2100 rating in all brackets, 2,343 characters are night elf, and 2,124 are Horde.

This is just a ridiculous stat that reflects how OP SM is.

Also Nelf are mandatory MANDATORY for healers in M+

Devs got no courage to fix this obviously OP racial. STEP UP!

Yeah I mean that’s how it should be. I’ve always had the opinion of any sort of rated competitive game should be standardized when it comes to the gameplay aspect of it. They already pretty much got it figured out with the PvP ilvl stat, and given that items like gliders are disabled in rated PvP, racials should too.

I just know they probably won’t because the “muh flavor” crowd is incredibly loud and whiny about that sort of thing.

How it was in Vanilla. It is a 10 second cooldown but only useable outside of combat and you can’t move. For Druids/Rogues it also reduces the chance people will detect you further.

It is still a good talent but not absolutely broken like it is today.

They are wildly obnoxious about “Muh flavor” and its frankly dumb. Its why you see a ton of a single race (name of expansion here) where the meta chase crowd who’re not good enough to use that racial (whatever that one is at the time) flock to that racial because their streamer bros told them its BiS, meanwhile they’re not getting R1 let alone glad.

It’s the only way to fix the problem, and while I am opposed to targeted nerfs to Nelf because its the least annoying racial, I know that if they do the meta will shift to a more annoying one that will irritate me. This is why I am opposed fully, because at least with Nelf you can counter it fairly effectively, but other racials are more annoying to deal with.

IMO delete racials fully and then we can just pick whatever cosmetic kit we like and everything works.

They should bring it back in its original form

10 sec CD but only usable out of combat.

This way it can be used on demand before combat starts or right after combat ends if you are good in pillar hugging but can’t be used as a vanish to effectively give rogues and Druids an extra stealth window.

It will be still useful in wpvp and bgb as you can always stealth to guard nodes without being able to be used as offensive CD

That does sound fair, if you get out of combat to shadowmeld, like hunter camo, and stealth/prowl.

Shadowmeld is a cheap vanish for too many class that shouldnt have a vanish.

Yep this change will benefit the non stealth classes and make it fun but fair strategic CD

In blitz classes like Shadow priest or WW monk etc can use it to guard nodes and be able to recap> shadow melt at will, also can be paired with the Bgb stealth buff where you can get stealth buff and meld after it expires to ambush people but will not be giving stealth classes like Druid and rogue more stealth options
