The way Shadow Rift is currently being used is frustrating and feels unhealthy for gameplay. In many situations, it functions more like a cheat than an intended mechanic.
In Warsong Gulch specifically, flag carriers can be teleported outside of the flag room. That creates an obvious imbalance and raises questions about fairness and competitive integrity.
Blizzard has removed or adjusted many abilities and mechanics in the past when they negatively impacted gameplay. Given that history, it’s worth asking why Shadow Rift is still allowed to function this way.
I hope the team will take a closer look at this ability and consider changes or removal to preserve fair play.
I think it’s fine and usually an obvious mechanic.
I would prefer they reduce the timer for the teleport back, down to 8 seconds instead of 20. 20seconds is an eternity in PVP.
If youre getting teleported out then maybe you need to pay attention to the purple on the ground?
Player issue not a spell isuue.
Aaaw, did somebody stand in the 2 second purple circle and travel 40 yards against their will?
Seriously, you can do the same thing instantly with a DK or two and everyone accepts it. The fact that warlock has the ability to do something exclusively unique to a PvP environment to begin with is a miracle considering how much we lose. To call it “Negatively impacted gameplay” is a cop out and you know it.
When SR screws me, I am unhappy too. But SR should definitely stay in the game. It’s a cc that requires setup and forces the caster to sacrifice a vital defensive ability to use it. That trade-off makes it fair. Also it’s fun to see smart players both utilize it and find ways to outplay it.

Sounds like a git gud situation
This is being used more frequently to bug players and make them continually DC. Just had it happen in Ashran and in AV, where they place the portal to a known bug location - meaning a guaranteed win for them. Not fair
Shadow Rift and Divide and Conquer (evoker deep breathe los) are 2 pvp talents I would not miss at all.
Everyone is missing the REAL reason that this ability needs to be removed. Warlock has way way wayyy too much CC. Most classes got pruned and lost several CC abilities, locks dodged the prune entirely. Somethings gotta go.

This is being used more frequently to bug players by premade groups, and make those targeted continually DC when trying to not fall through the map. It’s happening more often where they place the portal to a known bug location (in Ashran (towers) and in AV (next to vanns base), WG (behind the stairs at SR) etc - meaning a guaranteed win for them.
When you are stunned/rooted/trapped in it and ported to that known bug location, this is an unfair advantage, and a continual disconnect loop as zoning back in relocates you to that spot where you fall through the map.

This thing has done more harm than good.
