It’s just so out of line with other holiday achievements. The other ones are just 50 HKs with an appearance or buff.
Changing it to that would also be fine, 50 HKs with Orphan, but then you “no changes!!” andies would complain even more.
People asked for it’s removal every year in retail. Now, it was removed at last, and for good reasons. Nobody except the minority liked it.
So for Classic too, either you change the achievement, or you do the same as retail and remove it from the meta.
If anybody wants to “achieve” it, they can. It’s not like I’m asking for the achievement to be removed. Just for it to not be part of the meta anymore.
And if any of the no changes andies are still upset that I am suggesting this, why don’t you start a forum post about the change to the Naxx achievement that previously had you exclude people from the Raid?
Some old stuff should be changed when the majority of people don’t like it. School of Hard Knocks is just another one of those.

Those achievements you can do any day of the year. This is a limited time event that comes once a year. If you dont understand the difference, then there’s no point in continuing.
I know ones limited during a timed event. That doesn’t change the fact that you’re calling it degen behavior, when its the exact same behavior you should be doing anyways.

But that’s not what we’re talking about, now is it? We’re talking about not healing your team or putting yourself in a horrible position just to snag a flag return from any of the 3 melee who are already there.
Do you not have PW:Shield? Renew? PW:Pain? Psychic Scream? Do you only know how to move and then do something or vice versa? Do you lack the ability to move and do something together?
You’re complaining about needing to return a flag. I assume you’re used to other people doing it for you, and now you’re in a situation where you need to do it, and you don’t know how to cope about it, so you go to the forums.
It’s not a degen activity to return the flag. You, an experienced wow player, should understand when a fight is in your favor. You should be able to recognize when an EFC is effectively confirmed dead, and thus the focus needs to shift to flag return. You should already be prepping to get into melee to aoe fear any enemy defenders away from snagging the flag back.
There is no situation where you’re correct here. You either don’t know how to pvp and are coping, or know how to pvp and are throwing your games already.

You’re right, I dont pvp. That’s why it’s dumb that a holiday achievement requires pvp. It’s like asking us to bring our orphan along to last hit a scion on malygos.

The achievement does nothing for raid progression. If you only cared about pve, then you wouldn’t care. You caring about the achievement means you like vanity. Blizzard knows this. It’s why they have pvp objectives for not inherently pvp events. You either do it or don’t.
Seethe and cope. I’ll enjoy my pink dragon on day one of the fire festival while you mald about needing to checks notes return a WSG flag one time.
I’m not sure why you’re criticizing my desire for the violet drake when you seem to want it too.
You’re right, you have presented solutions, all of which have me putting my own desire to return the flag above keeping my team alive. I’m sure there will be situations where the heals aren’t needed, but when everyone queuing for WSG is going for the same thing, it will be far easier to complete as melee.
As for me, I already have a degenerate plan to do it. Will I be helping my team win? Absolutely not, but I’ll just tell them apathy said it was ok.
i dunno about rng, but when your own team literally prevents you from doing the tasks, i’d say that’s gameplay disruption…because they’re literally preventing ALL members of their team from let’s say retrieving a fallen flag, let alone members of the opposing team from stealing it in the first place.
as for the other tasks, they literally tell people in chat to ignore any player with an orphan out and to “leave them for dead”. trust me, i should know. i’ve tried this over the years on Standard. and because of the seething toxicity of PvP’ers, i detest and loathe them.
sure i got several holiday tasks done and some of the titles, but at what cost? i hate PvP. i hate BG’s. and i hate PvP’ers with a passion now. Blizz could literally put the Swift Spectral Tiger as a reward for winning x number of victories in each BG and i’d still say “not worth it.”
i personally don’t care if they remove Hard Knocks, but that’s mostly cause i ain’t bothering with holiday events in Classic Wrath. unless its a simple turn-in (I.E. candy buckets for Hallows End, honoring flames during Midsummer, etc) cause those award exp, and i’ll happily take those.
even if the other side is nothing but botters, i still refuse to do the flaming garbage known as PvP. i don’t care if they boast that its “easy exp”, i’m not falling for it. /rant

You actually have no idea how to be useful in pvp outside of generic spam heal and hope. That’s fine, but that’s now just a skill issue. If you aren’t good enough to be more useful than basic healer, then get better ig.
Melee is both a class and range. I’m talking about range from this point on.
Get in melee. You have spells that you can use in melee that are useful. You still have your heals. You still have cc. You still have utility. Hell, being close to melee helps your melee PEEL for you. It’s easier for melee to turn and burn an enemy in melee than to run back 30 yards for their Priest whos big afraid to hit their W key, AND, it helps you get your achi. You’re literally complaining because you’re afraid of your W key and lack the knowledge and skill to utilize it.
Sure, throw I guess. I keep outlining exactly how you can help the team AND get the achi, but you’re just hardstuck in some weird mindset about how you’re throwing if you utilize your abilities in a more offensive way.
Ontop of that, this is unrated WSG. It literally does not matter if you win or lose, especially during this event as WSG will be flooded with players who are there specifically to get an achi.

Please tell that to the healers at the top of the arena ladder who spend their time kiting melee. They should be standing in the melee cleave like a real healer! Maybe i didnt get my rbg rating high enough to see those manmode healers either.

You can be in melee. You can be close to melee. You can be within reaction distance of melee. You don’t have to be in the pile. Just close.
I’ve said what I said. I refuse to reword: “You can still be useful, just be smart and not dumb about it” anymore. If your only course of action is to mimic being afk to get a flag return, or tunnel focus spam heals 30 yards away with no in between, then that’s a you/skill issue. Melee has a pretty clear definition. Maybe you should say what you mean the first time instead of saying melee when you mean not melee. Besides, those actual melee classes still have the click advantage unless I time it perfectly. And even still, see above point about the benefits about standing near melee as a healer.
It’s ok dude, you dont have to keep responding. I’ve already figured out a way to do this. It’s just a different level of griefing my team than what you suggested.
