Remove LIFO Logic for sales on the AH

  1. would do nothing - they aren’t going to set up FIFO on anything but items of similar prices so doing this would start an endless cycle of undercutting.
  2. no there are valid reasons to cancel auctions, i.e. you are getting off for the day and your auction is up in 30 minutes and you don’t have time to log on again.
  3. TSM isn’t a botting tool - although I wouldn’t care if it was banned. If these people are botting though they would make their own botting software anyway so all you would hurt is legitimate players.

There is no botting ‘problem’ in my opinion anyway.

You are clueless… TSM is not a botting tool, you are completely unaware of what you are talking about.

FIFO means you would have what we had before and everyone hated. The only thing I can see agreeing with is the cancel auction option, it should not be there after 30 secs.

No, it means for a given price the first posted is the first sold. The lowest price will always be first to sell though. That’s how markets work. FIFO discourages posting at the same price and thus encourages undercutting.

FIFO means people will keep undercutting to get a sale

Removing LIFO just changes people from

  • wasting their deposits to put themselves back at the top of the list

to

  • wasting their deposits to put themselves back at the top of the list by undercutting.

The difference: further price deflations.

Which is why the cancel auction button needs to grey out after 60 seconds.

The auction shouldn’t be ‘live’ until it can no longer be canceled. So once the button greys out the listing is live, before that it’s just queued to go live.

or we could just report them and have blizzard sort it out. if they are really botting then it shouldn’t be an issue right?

No it uses its own program to run, so it’s a third party program, or you get a error box with just the addon .

So its not botting now thanks and the base mod is free premium packages arent against tos or the addon would be gone thats been discussed in length on the ui forum

Premium features are 100% against the rules

So your answer is to have everyone that does not understand how the AH works and believes they are being undercut by a bot make a report? Then have Blizzard employees waste countless man-hours to go through the reports and figure out 99% of them are false?

Yea, Nah.

I would like to see a system where the auction is queued for 30 secs, giving the poster enough time to make up his mind about the auction. Then after that 30 seconds, the auction becomes active and it’s unable to be manipulated by the seller until 30 minutes prior to it expiring.

In other words you havent been part of the years and years of discussions about this on the old ui forums and dont know what your talking about thanks for clearing that up too

Well that’s good for your server at least. I can see them rampant on the servers i’m on.

The sole justification to Canceling an action should be protection against mis-posting posting an item. (Realizing you posted with the wrong price).

Canceling auctions should be a rare thing. Therefore Canceled items should not be returned to the seller for at least an hour, maybe more (This is the consequences of mis-posting an item). This would severely slow the post-cancel-post cycle of bots.

Sounds good to me.

no it doesn’t - it would do nothing anyway - people would just split what they have to sell into 100 stacks and just keep on loading them.

no - there is legitimate reasons to cancel auctions
