Remove Layering!

Seriously, Blizzard.

Layering needs to be removed.

We downloaded and subscribed to Classic, and we want the authentic Classic experience.

This whole layering nonsense has caused nothing but issues upon issues.

Just remove it! Its that simple.

It’s negatively impacting the game in far more ways than benefiting it.

I honestly don’t see how you guys even considered it to be a good idea to begin with! During the chaotic launch, sure that might be understandable. But myself as well as many others im sure agree that this should have been done away with long ago! And now you see the havoc it has wreaked upon the game we all know and love.

We wanted the Classic experience, which has unfortunately already been tarnished.

Remove layering before the damage it causes becomes irreversible.

How is it not?

Its impacting the economy.

Theres people unfairly exploiting it.

It divides up the population.

People constantly spam chat “Invite to layer plz”.

People use it to avoid PvP.

Im sure people are also hopping layers to gather more resources.

Hell, who knows what else people are doing with it.

This is just not how the game should be. At all.

I have literally never seen this. I am on BB alliance. I am rarely in the cities though, so that may be why.

No, not how could it theoretically be used to impact someone’s game.

How has it impacted YOUR game in a noticeable way? If you weren’t reading the forums, would you even know layers existed?

I see this out in the world about as often as LFG. Usually from people looking for a less camped quest mob area, or because they are being camped.

I have seen groups of mages aoe farming large areas of mobs while questing, then all of a sudden, they are gone and i have mobs to kill.

It is happening.

I’ve not seen this once. I’m on Myzrael and not once has this been in any chat or my guild.

How have you felt the effects of layering on the economy? What items are you trying to buy or sell that you cannot, or what money-making avenue is shut off for you at level 14 and how is it related to layering?

Theres people unfairly exploiting it.

It divides up the population.

Which is generally a positive thing, as many quests would be nearly impossible to complete without layers during busy times. You can still find groups just as easily (chat ignores layers), everyone is still participating in the same AH, etc.

Yeah that’s annoying. I just report them and move on.

People use it to avoid PvP.

How many people have you tried to gank that have layered away? I’ve been doing a ton of PvP and haven’t seen it happen once, even when I was corpse camping people.

Im sure people are also hopping layers to gather more resources.

Again, how has this affected YOU so far?

I thought zone chats are limited to the layer you are on? Don’t know why I thought that and don’t have time to look for a source right now.

I know there is abuse going on, because Blizz is addressing it. I just think it is a few bad apples that are really ruining it for everyone else. I hope Blizz culls those apples.

Its one chat for all layers - thats why you can see someone selling something in trade, be standing next to them (ontop of org bank for example) but need to party with them to physically see them. It looks exactly like sharding or phasing when you seer it, but the layers are an entire layer of the world instead of just a zone.

I do believe they should have done more work on layering before releasing classic. It’s great in theory, but yes people are even using it now to respawn bosses in MC via a layering exploit. Not sure why layering is in a raid…

And yet it is broken to the point bosses can respawn AND you can loot them again.

Even with a lockout.

Then the folks doing that should be banned.

Might i add that the raid ‘lockout’ works differently from retail, where you are loot locked in retail but in classic, it prevents the instance from respawning.

That’s why I was under the impression that any layer you were on should have the same lockout.

Yeah you got me, level 38 with not even 30g in the bank. Getting really far ahead with all of my exploits.

I know people are abusing layers. I’m asking how it’s significantly impacting his game in any noticeable way. There’s a whole lot of fearmongering and complaining from people who, if they weren’t reading the forums, wouldn’t even know that layers existed.
